Publication number: 20230034481Abstract: Some embodiments are directed to a system that includes multiple fire sensors and equipment, and mobile devices of the users of the system. These fire sensors and equipment are configured in a network so as to allow communication with a processor. A processor in the system interrogates the status of the fire sensors and fire safety elements on a continuous basis. Upon a change in system status, the processor interprets the change and classifies according to operation state or probability of a fire or other imminent threat. The data, processing and storage provide the means by which occupants and potential occupants can better navigate a building during the occurrence of a fire.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 10, 2022Publication date: February 2, 2023Applicant: PFPR LimitedInventors: David Benton, Jacob Benton, Simon Benton, Lizzie Benton, Dean Lynn

Patent number: 11291699Abstract: A method for preparing a medicinal substance containing full spectrum of therapeutically desirable substances in naturally occurring proportions found in hemp plants, is carried out by grinding a whole hemp plant to produce fine particles material, and exposing the fine particles material to an elevated pressure (11 PSI-15 PSI) and a reaction temperature maintained in a range of 230 F-250 F which is below a boiling point of the phyto-cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids, thus providing enhanced conditions for solvent-free extraction of the therapeutically desirable substances and diffusing the extracted substances into the carrier oil at an enhanced rate. Thus produced infused oil final product contains full spectrum phyto-cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids in naturally occurring proportions.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 2020Date of Patent: April 5, 2022Assignee: Delmarva Hemp, LLCInventors: Jeffrey David Benner, David Benton McGiffin, Larry Maurice Douglas

Patent number: 10568766Abstract: A mechanical refrigeration and heating unit supplies filtered air that is heated or chilled as needed for one or more welding helmets. A portable or transportable cabinet or housing has an air inlet on which a cartridge air filter is mounted. The air passes through an evaporator coil into an evaporator plenum where an evaporator fan moves the air to an outlet that connects with a heater plenum that contains an electric heater module. An outlet of the heater if fitted with an outlet port to which an air hose may be connected. A compressor, condenser coil, receiver, and condenser fan are located in an equipment compartment in the housing. A control board in the unit allows the user to select heated or chilled air. A clogged-filter alarm provides visual and audio alarm signals when pressure in the evaporator plenum falls below a threshold.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2017Date of Patent: February 25, 2020Inventor: David Benton

Patent number: 8678492Abstract: A DC powered refrigeration package supplies refrigerant to an evaporator coil that is incorporated into the driver's seat of a race car. The DC-powered compressor, condenser and condenser fan are contained within an enclosure that can be situated behind the driver's seat. The refrigeration circuit chills the seat to below freezing, favorably to about 20° F. or below.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2008Date of Patent: March 25, 2014Inventor: David Benton

Patent number: 8121070Abstract: A portable computer searches for preprogrammed wireless stations when it boots, and if it does not recognize any, stops booting the O.S. so that data cannot be accessed. In this way, should the portable computer be stolen and removed from its intended vicinity, data on the computer cannot be accessed by the thief.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 2005Date of Patent: February 21, 2012Assignee: Lenovo (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.Inventors: Alberto José Rojas Saba, Raymond Gary Octaviano, II, James Stephen Rutledge, David Benjamin Morgan, Shane Christopher Branch, Simon David Nicholas Taylor, Sean Michael Ulrich, Farrel David Benton, James C. Patent number: 8091134Abstract: A system, method, and program product is provided that communicates virus information between a computer that detects a virus in a file (the detecting computer system) and the computer that sent the infected file (the infected computer system). When the infected computer system sends an infected file to the detecting computer system the detecting computer system detects the virus in the infected file, retrieves virus information corresponding to the virus (such as the name of the infected file, the identifier, or name, of the virus, the virus definitions used to identify the virus, and any instructions needed to eradicate the virus), and automatically sends the virus information back to the infected computer system over the network.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 2006Date of Patent: January 3, 2012Assignee: Lenovo (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.Inventors: Farrel David Benton, Shane Christopher Branch, Robert J. Kapinos, Raymond G. Octaviano, II, Alberto Jose Rojas Saba, James C. Patent number: 7262603Abstract: A system and method for sensing the formation of tin whiskers is presented. An assembly substrate includes whisker detectors at various locations for detecting tin whiskers in an X direction, a Y direction, and a Z direction relative to the assembly substrate. Each whisker detector includes sense traces and a trace bridge that produce “planar gaps” and “orthogonal gaps” that are smaller than trace gaps produced by other traces on the assembly substrate. As such, tin whiskers short across the planar gaps and orthogonal gaps before they short across trace gaps. When the assembly substrate is finished with processing steps, a system tester performs a continuity test on the whisker detectors. When the continuity test fails, an operator is notified to check for tin whiskers on the assembly substrate. Once shipped, a processor monitors the whisker detectors for shorts throughout the product's lifecycle.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2006Date of Patent: August 28, 2007Assignee: Lenovo (Singapore) Pte. LtdInventors: Farrel David Benton, Shane Christopher Branch, Robert J. Kapinos, Alberto Jose Rojas, James Stephen Rutledge, James C. Salembier, Simon David Nicholas Taylor, Sean Michael Ulrich

Patent number: 7207961Abstract: A medical apparatus is provided. The medical apparatus is designed to be a foot covering that is specially designed for diabetic individuals who may have or be susceptible to medical conditions of the feet. The medical apparatus allows an individual to go outdoors without wearing shoes, because the medical apparatus itself serves as a crude shoe covering over a pair of feet. In addition, the medical apparatus itself can serve as a sock covering, which can then be used when a shoe is placed over an individual's feet.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 2005Date of Patent: April 24, 2007Inventors: David Benton, Tamika Benton
