  • Patent number: 11922636
Abstract: An electronic device places an augmented reality object in an image of a real environment based on a pose of the electronic device and based on image segmentation. The electronic device includes a camera that captures images of the real environment and sensors, such as an inertial measurement unit (IMU), that capture a pose of the electronic device. The electronic device selects an augmented reality (AR) object from a memory, segments a captured image of the real environment into foreground pixels and background pixels, and composites an image for display wherein the AR object is placed between the foreground pixels and the background pixels. As the pose of the electronic device changes, the electronic device maintains the relative position of the AR object with respect to the real environment in images for display.

  • Patent number: 11419782
Abstract: This massage device is configured to apply pressure to a human user's back, shoulders, or any distinct part of the musculoskeletal system. It can also be operated with a single arm and attaches to the user's forearm to apply pin-point or various pressure to target muscles. The massage device includes an arm plate that is configured to cover a forearm and a wrist of a human user. A hand grip is mechanically coupled to the arm plate and configured to accommodate the gripping of human fingers. A wrist bar is attached to the arm plate. A J-bar may be attached to the wrist bar. A tip is attached to the J-bar or directly to the short wrist bar. The tip is configured to provide variant pressure to the human user's back or shoulders or distal body part. Thereby duplicating mechanical pressure applied by a trained bodyworker by the untrained self at a much more reasonable price.

  • Patent number: 9661896
Abstract: A footwear article includes a foot-attachment structure configured to attach to a foot, and longitudinally opposite front and rear ends. The footwear article further includes a downward-facing exposed sole surface. A cantilever extension, in a natural condition, adjoins the sole surface at a junction, and projects rearwardly and downwardly from the junction. The extension has a proximal end and a distal end that are longitudinally opposite each other. The extension is supported at only the proximal end. The extension is configured to elastically resist upward rotation of the extension toward the sole, and is configured to be pushed upward toward the sole by the upward force.

  • Patent number: 9056431
Abstract: An apparatus includes a fitting connected to a body. The fitting has an engagement portion including a channel formed into a peripheral surface of it and an axis. The body includes an axial layer provided around at least some of the peripheral surface of the engagement portion of the end fitting and a hoop layer provided around the axial layer at a location corresponding to at least some of the channel so as to urge at least some of the axial layer into a portion of the channel. The channel is arranged such that at least some of it defines a pathway that is non-orthogonal with respect to the axis of the fitting, such that at least some of the surface area of the channel defines a load bearing surface for the transfer of torque between the fitting and body when a rotational force is applied to one of them.
