Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for preventing delivery of a nontherapeutic dose of medication to a patient and/or preventing medications from being administered to the patient that causes documented allergic or drug sensitivity reactions to the patient. The networked medication delivery system [20] includes an infusion device [22] programmable by the user with instructions for administering the medication, and a computing device [26] for determining whether the programmed data would yield a clinically acceptable dose or the medication is in the list of documented medication that would cause an allergic or drug sensitivity reaction to the patient.
