  • Patent number: 11277093
Abstract: A switching device has a cover including: a hollow content area housing a plurality of connectors; one or more openings designed to allow passage of one or more conductors; and one or more reflective agents mounted on the cover such that changing a physical location of an entirety of the cover with respect to an enclosure of an electronic device changes a location of the one or more reflective agents. A sensor is configured to sense the one or more reflective agents and output an electrical signal depending on the location of the sensed one or more reflective agents mounted on the cover. The sensor is positioned outside of the hollow content area of the cover. A controller is configured to change a state of the electronic device according to the output electrical signal of the sensor. The cover is mounted on an exterior surface of the enclosure.

  • Publication number: 20220020887
Abstract: Various implementations described herein are directed to a method for determining an order of power devices connected in a serial string. A command is transmitted, to at least one first power device of a plurality of power devices, to change an output electrical parameter. At least one electrical signal is caused to be transmitted from at least one second power device of the plurality of power devices. At least one measured value responsive to the electrical signal is received from at least one of the plurality of power devices. A determination is made, by analyzing the at least one measured value, which ones of the plurality of power devices are ordered in the serial string between the at least one first power device and the at least one second power device.

  • Publication number: 20210376595
Abstract: Methods for arc detection in a system including one or more photovoltaic generators, one or more photovoltaic power devices and a system power device and/or a load connectible to the photovoltaic generators and/or the photovoltaic power devices. The methods may measure voltage, current, and/or power delivered to the load or system power device, and the methods may measure voltage noise or current noise within the photovoltaic system. The methods may periodically, and/or in response to detecting noise, reduce an electrical parameter such as current or voltage in order to extinguish an arc. The methods may compare one or more measurements to one or more thresholds to detect arcing, and upon a comparison indicating that arcing is or was present, an alarm condition may be set.

  • Publication number: 20210311153
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for calibration of a current transformer. In some examples, one or more electrical elements may be affected in order to set a calibration of the current transformer. A calibration circuit of the current transformer may be permanently or non-permanently affected according to a calibration code in order to set the calibration of the current transformer. For example, one or more fuses may be burned to lock in a certain configuration of the current transformer.

  • Publication number: 20210288610
Abstract: A method for arc detection in a system including a photovoltaic panel and a load connectible to the photovoltaic panel with a DC power line. The method measures power delivered to the load thereby producing a first measurement result of the power delivered to the load. Power produced by the photovoltaic panel is also measured, thereby producing a second measurement result of power produced by the photovoltaic panel. The first measurement result is compared with the second measurement result thereby producing a differential power measurement result. Upon the differential power measurement result being more than a threshold value, an alarm condition may also be set. The second measurement result may be modulated and transmitted over the DC power line.

  • Publication number: 20210098167
Abstract: An apparatus comprising a signal transformer coupled to a power line and a signal transmission, reception, or detection circuit. A sensor is configured to be responsive to the power line current or magnetic flux generated in a ferrite core of the signal transformer. When the sensor indicates that the flux generated by the power line current mat cause an attenuation of the signal strength, a second circuit generates a current through a flux cancelling winding that cancels at least some of the flux generated by the power line current.

  • Publication number: 20210075313
Abstract: A method for a power system having a string of a plurality of power sources connected across a power device includes connecting a plurality of safe voltage units having safety switches connected respectively across each of the power sources. The method includes sensing a plurality of parameters of the power sources, and monitoring for a signal transmitted from the power device. Each of the safety switches is activated to be OFF responsive to detecting the signal within a predetermined time period. Upon not detecting the signal from the power device within the predetermined time period, a safe mode of operation of the power system is entered in which the voltages of each of the power sources is reduced to a voltage level less than a predetermined voltage level by turning the safety switches ON.
