Some embodiments of the product can preserve string tuning while still providing limited tremolo use for musical effects. The product maintains tuning by obstructing the tremolo from pivoting past the initial tuned position when string tension is changed by string breakage and other events. The product can precisely and repeatably obstruct the tremolo at the initial tuned position so that string tuning is reliably preserved.
