  • Patent number: 9609513
Abstract: A short-range wireless network is established by direct communication between wireless devices and wireless access points. A wireless communication device provides initial registration information to a network and becomes a registered device. An API is downloaded to the wireless device to permit automatic authentication of the device for future communications. When a registered device enters a venue, at least one access point will automatically detect the wireless device and extract the necessary identification data to permit authentication of the device. Customized messages may be provided to the wireless device. If the wireless device enters a different venue, even in another city or state, the registration data may be automatically extracted by an AP and provided to a cloud network for authentication. Authenticated devices receive a list of authenticated vendors and unauthenticated vendors near the present location of the authenticated device.

  • Patent number: 9586139
Abstract: A short-range wireless communication network may be established by direct communication between two or more wireless communication devices and/or communication via an access point to permit game play between a plurality of devices. A conventional cellular telephone includes an integrated short-range transceiver. The short-range transceivers of multiple wireless communication devices can be coupled together to form a short-range communication network without utilizing any wireless communication network supported by A Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN). Data is disseminated between the wireless communication devices using a data message synchronization process. Messages may also be carried from one wireless network to another as the communication devices are carried by individuals.

  • Publication number: 20170046742
Abstract: User equipment (UE) is configured to automatically detect the presence of an access point (AP) in any one of a plurality of venues and to transmit identification information to the AP to authenticate the UE. The venue receiving the authentication request transfers the authentication request and identification information to an authentication server to automatically authenticate the UE whenever it is carried inside a venue. The venues may be coupled to a Cloud network with the authentication information stored on the Cloud network. Whenever the UE enters any of the venues, the UE is automatically authenticated when it comes within range of any AP within any of the venues. The venue may use an application program interface to provide advertising, coupons, web links, images, audio, video, streaming video, and the like to the UE. The venue may direct the UE to a website or provide a link to the website.

  • Publication number: 20170014716
Abstract: User equipment (UE) includes a short-range transceiver configured for communication with a plurality of wireless access points (APs) distributed throughout a venue. The individual UEs can communicate with the venue via the APs. The UEs can be configured to play interactive games with the venue, some of which may be displayed on the large screen in the venue and others that are displayed on the display of the UE. Data may be sent to the UEs individually or in groups. The data may be in the form of advertising, text messaging, images, video, multimedia, or the like. An array of UEs can receive portions of an overall image and function as individual pixels in a large display.

  • Patent number: 9485656
Abstract: User equipment (UE) is configured to automatically detect the presence of an access point (AP) in any one of a plurality of venues and to transmit identification information to the AP to authenticate the UE. The venue receiving the authentication request transfers the authentication request and identification information to an authentication server to determine whether the US is a registered device. If the US was previously registered, it is automatically authenticated whenever it is carried inside a venue. The plurality of venues may be coupled to a Cloud network with the authentication information stored on the Cloud network. In this manner, whenever the UE enters any of the venues, the UE is automatically authenticated when it comes within range of any AP within any of the venues. The venue may use an application program interface (API) to provide advertising, coupons, web links, images, audio, video, streaming video, and the like to the UE.

  • Publication number: 20160173956
Abstract: A mobile communication device communicates with at least one of a plurality of a plurality of Access Points (APs) in a venue. The APs receives a single stream of video data packets that are created by receiving multiple video streams and transcoding them into the single stream of video data packets with each of the plurality of video data packets for respective ones of the video streams being assigned a port number corresponding to the respective video stream. A processor in the mobile communication device identifies and stores the video data packets having the selected port number and plays the video stream corresponding to the selected port number on a display. The mobile communication device can “change channels” to view other video streams by changing the port number to the port number of the desired video stream.

  • Publication number: 20160173938
Abstract: A multimedia distribution system receives multiple television channels and transcodes them into a single stream of data packets with each of the plurality of video data packets for respective ones of the television channels being assigned a port number corresponding to the respective television channel. The data packets are routed to a plurality of Access Points (APs) for transmission. A User Equipment (UE) communicates with the APs and selects one of the television channels for viewing on the UE by selecting the port number corresponding to the desired television channel. The UE can “change channels” to view other television channels by changing the port number to the port number of the desired television channel.

Abstract: A video or multimedia distribution system receives multiple video streams and transcodes them into a single stream of data packets with each of the plurality of video data packets for respective ones of the video streams being assigned a port number corresponding to the respective original video stream. The data packets are routed to a plurality of Access Points (APs) for transmission. A User Equipment (UE) communicates with the APs and selects one of the video streams for viewing on the UE by selecting the port number corresponding to the desired video stream. A processor in the UE identifies and stores data packets having the selected port number and plays the video stream on a display. • Publication number: 20160173912
Abstract: A temporary video or multimedia distribution system set up in a venue receives multiple video streams and transcodes them into a single stream of data packets with each of the plurality of video data packets for respective ones of the video streams being assigned a port number corresponding to the respective video stream. The data packets are routed to a plurality of Access Points (APs) for transmission. At least a portion of the APs may be temporarily installed before an event and removed following the event. A User Equipment (UE) communicates with the APs and selects one of the video streams for viewing on the UE by selecting the port number corresponding to the desired video stream. The UE can “change channels” to view other video streams by changing the port number to the port number of the desired video stream.

  • Patent number: 9271054
Abstract: A video or multimedia distribution system receives multiple video streams and transcodes them into a single stream of UDP packets with each of the plurality of video data packets for respective ones of the video streams being assigned a port number corresponding to the respective video stream. The UDP packets are routed to a plurality of Access Points (APs) for transmission. A User Equipment (UE) communicates with the APs and selects one of the video streams for viewing on the UE by selecting the port number corresponding to the desired video stream. A first processor in the UE identifies and stores UDP packet data having the selected port number and a second processor retrieves and plays the video stream on a display. The UE can “change channels” to view other video streams by changing the port number to the port number of the desired video stream.

  • Patent number: 9245408
Abstract: A short-range wireless network is established by direct communication between wireless devices and wireless access points to permit gambling within a casino. The short communication range of the access points assures that the wireless device is in the casino. A gaming communication link is used to exchange game play data (e.g., betting, card dealing, etc.) between a gaming controller and one or more wireless devices. Game play may be conducted between a player and the house or between a plurality of payers. In one embodiment, all communication is routed between players using the gaming controller so that the house controls the transmission of all game play data.
