  • Patent number: 10334701
Abstract: The present disclosure describes an electronic device that is capable of coordinating the control of various types of lights. For example, the electronic device may receive data indicating conditions for activating the light emitters. The electronic device may then obtain sensor data generated by various sensors, such as motion sensors, light sensors, or a timer. Using the sensor data, the electronic device may determine that the conditions are satisfied and, in response, cause the light emitters to activate. To activate a first type of light emitters, the electronic device may cause power to be provided to the first type of emitters via connectors. Additionally, to activate additional types of light emitters, the electronic device may transmit signals to the additional types of light emitters that include commands to activate. The additional types of light emitters may be powered by the electronic device or external power sources.

  • Publication number: 20190138995
Abstract: Advanced infrastructure management. In an embodiment, infrastructure domain(s) are imported. Each domain comprises representations of infrastructure asset type(s), activity type(s) related to the asset type(s), and standards and compliance parameters related to the asset type(s). A plurality of representations of infrastructure assets of the asset type(s) are stored. Each of the representations of infrastructure assets comprises location information representing a geolocation of the asset, and updated location information is continually received for infrastructure asset(s), such that the location information for those infrastructure asset(s) is continually updated. In addition, at least one rating is generated for each of the infrastructure assets based on the standards and compliance parameters, and workplan(s) comprising activity(ies) to be performed on infrastructure asset(s) may be generated.

  • Patent number: 10261711
Abstract: An application shim receives transactions that will update a portion of data stored in an existing data store. A reduced representation of the pre-update portion of data is generated and compared to an existing reduced representation of the same portion of data to verify that the data has not been tampered with. An updated reduced representation is generated based on the post-update portion of data. The updated reduced representation is added to a distributed ledger such as a block chain. Further verification of non-tampering may be provided by comparing the reduced representation stored by the system and the one appended to the blockchain. If a discrepancy is identified, appropriate corrective action may be taken, such as blocking further transactions, notifying responsible entities, and/or restoring the data from a backup.

  • Patent number: 10244393
Abstract: A short-range wireless network is established by direct communication between wireless devices and wireless access points to permit gambling within a casino. The short communication range of the access points assures that the wireless device is in the casino. A gaming communication link is used to exchange game play data (e.g., betting, card dealing, etc.) between a gaming controller and one or more wireless devices. Game play may be conducted between a player and the house or between a plurality of payers. In one embodiment, all communication is routed between players using the gaming controller so that the house controls the transmission of all game play data.

  • Publication number: 20180360504
Abstract: A clip-on reducer tool assembly for seating a spinal fixation rod in a rod receiving implant, the tool assembly has an outer sleeve. The outer sleeve has a proximal end with a cylindrical portion having a threaded opening, a first leg extension extending therefrom to a distal end, and a second leg extension joined to the first leg extension at an intermediate location between the distal end and proximal end. The second leg extension extends from the distal end toward the proximal end to a lever end spaced from the cylindrical portion. The leg extensions at the distal end have grasping members to engage an outer surface of a rod receiving implant and a fulcrum proximally located near the intermediate location configured to enlarge the space between the leg extension at the distal end as the lever end is depressed inwardly relative to a longitudinal axis of the outer sleeve.

  • Patent number: 10154290
Abstract: A multimedia distribution system receives multiple television channels and transcodes them into a single stream of data packets with each of the plurality of video data packets for respective ones of the television channels being assigned a port number corresponding to the respective television channel. The data packets are routed to a plurality of Access Points (APs) for transmission. A User Equipment (UE) communicates with the APs and selects one of the television channels for viewing on the UE by selecting the port number corresponding to the desired television channel. The UE can “change channels” to view other television channels by changing the port number to the port number of the desired television channel.

  • Patent number: 10142661
Abstract: A mobile communication device communicates with at least one of a plurality of a plurality of Access Points (APs) in a venue. The APs receives a single stream of video data packets that are created by receiving multiple video streams and transcoding them into the single stream of video data packets with each of the plurality of video data packets for respective ones of the video streams being assigned a port number corresponding to the respective video stream. A processor in the mobile communication device identifies and stores the video data packets having the selected port number and plays the video stream corresponding to the selected port number on a display. The mobile communication device can “change channels” to view other video streams by changing the port number to the port number of the desired video stream.

  • Publication number: 20180330274
Abstract: Techniques for importing skills from a first personal assistant service to a second personal assistant service are described. A machine accesses a skill programmed for the first personal assistant service from a first data file in a first format. The machine determines, based on the first data file, one or more intents used by the skill, each of the one or more intents specifying an action for fulfilling a natural language request of an end-user and including slot(s). The machine determines, based on the first data file, slot types for each of the slot(s) of each of the one or more intents, the slot types specifying sets of potential values for the slot(s), the slot(s) being arguments provided to the one or more intents. The machine stores the one or more intents and the slot types of the skill in a second format for the second personal assistant service.

  • Patent number: 10129568
Abstract: A video or multimedia distribution system receives multiple video streams and transcodes them into a single stream of data packets with each of the plurality of video data packets for respective ones of the video streams being assigned a port number corresponding to the respective original video stream. The data packets are routed to a plurality of Access Points (APs) for transmission. A User Equipment (UE) communicates with the APs and selects one of the video streams for viewing on the UE by selecting the port number corresponding to the desired video stream. A processor in the UE identifies and stores data packets having the selected port number and plays the video stream on a display. The UE can “change channels” to view other video streams by changing the port number to the port number of the desired video stream.

  • Publication number: 20180092678
Abstract: A modular tulip assembly has a rod receiving tulip and a saddle. The saddle is interlockingly held inside a distal portion of the tulip. The saddle has an external locking groove or recess. The tulip has a locking projection. The locking projection is positioned into the external locking groove or recess and holds the saddle in a pre-loaded unlocked state ready to be pushed onto a head of an implanted bone screw. Upon receiving the head of the bone screw, the saddle can be moved distally relative to the tulip to a locked state by moving the locking groove or recess distally past the locking projection to where the proximal end of the saddle is past abutting the locking projection.
