  • Publication number: 20170043912
Abstract: A strainable bag with a hook-and-hook closure can include walls formed of a material having multiple layers of polymer or paper or mixtures thereof, and which can include at least one gusset. The hook-and-hook closure allows for liquids or gases to be vented from the bag, as well as for liquids to be removed from the bag interior. The bag can be formed into a full open mouth configuration for ease of filling and ease of dispensing product. The hook-and-hook closure also allows for an imprecise alignment of the closure track to substantially close the bag around the gusset area. Methods of using and manufacturing a strainable bag with a hook-and-hook closure for preparing various food products are also presented.

  • Publication number: 20120269469
Abstract: A reclosable bag with a hook and hook closure can include walls formed of a material having multiple layers, which can include at least one gusset. The bag can be formed into a full open mouth configuration for ease of filling and ease of dispensing product. The hook and hook closure allows for an imprecise alignment of the closure track to substantially close the bag around the gusset area. • Publication number: 20110150368
Abstract: An article of manufacture including a bag made of a multi-layer laminate. The bag can have a front surface, a rear surface, two side surfaces, a bottom surface, and a top surface; the bag having a height, a width, and a depth, and an internal volume. The bag can be sealable and have a seal strength of at least about 1,600 pounds per square inch. The multi-layer laminate can have a thickness of from about 130 to about 200 microns. The plastic laminate can include an inner layer and an outer layer, wherein the outer layer can include a nylon and the inner layer can include a polyethylene. The plastic laminate can have a dart drop resistant of at least about 5 grams/mil and a tear resistance of at least about 6 grams/mil and 9 grams/mil in the machine direction and cross direction, respectively.

  • Patent number: 5859889
Abstract: A sheet counter has an elongate element (18) in which is formed a suction port (19), connected to a vacuum source by a duct (26). A pressure sensor is arranged to sense the pressure in the duct, in the vicinity of the port (19), and produces an electrical signal indicative thereof. The counter is set up by sensing the pressure in the duct with the port (19) open, either with the vacuum source operating or before operation thereof, and then by sensing the pressure in the duct with the port closed and the vacuum source operating. A pressure count-value part-way between the two sensed pressures is computed and during subsequent operation of the counter, a valid count signal is generated only if the instantaneous sensed pressure in the duct falls below the computed count-value.
