Publication number: 20240116001Abstract: A membrane filter is treated with formulated oxide powder and submerged in a liquid to be treated. Colloids in the liquid to be treated are separated and removed, and a colloid-free gap is maintained between the filtered colloids and the formulated oxide powder on the surface of the membrane by adjusting the flux rate which may typically range from 250-750 litres per m2 per hour. A low trans-membrane pressure is maintained across the membrane while the colloid-free gap is maintained, and a low turbidity is achieved in the filtered liquid.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 17, 2023Publication date: April 11, 2024Inventor: David BROMLEY

Patent number: 10146663Abstract: Various systems and methods for are disclosed. For example, a method can involve extracting information from a response. The response is generated in response to a request generated by a test module during execution of a test case. The extracted information describes characteristics of transactions within the test case. The method can then involve generating a display, based upon the extracted information. The display includes information identifying each of the components that participated in at least one of the transactions within the test case. Such a method can be performed by a computing device implementing the test module.Type: GrantFiled: August 17, 2015Date of Patent: December 4, 2018Assignee: CA, Inc.Inventors: John J. Patent number: 9896348Abstract: A nanoflotation system used to separate suspended solids or large settling or floating solids from water, waste water or liquids. This is accomplished through the use of submerged membranes, in combination with a number of design components comprising froth flotation, gravity settling, pre coating of the submerged membranes, spacing, of the membranes to facilitate flotation of solids to the surface or to the bottom of the containment chamber holding the submerged membranes, and membrane structures which use large diameter hollow fiber or tubular membranes and/or large pore opening membrane materials.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 2012Date of Patent: February 20, 2018Assignee: 643096 Alberta LimitedInventor: David Bromley

Publication number: 20160207792Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for treating liquids containing solids. Liquid is introduced into the bore of a conduit having an injection site. The liquid has a flow direction in the bore and fills the bore at locations upstream of the injection site. Froth is injected into the liquid at the injection site. The injected froth disrupts the flow of the liquid and creates a froth-liquid mixture downstream from the injection site. The froth-liquid mixture exhibits turbulent flow in the flow direction and corresponding high-intensity mixing of the froth-liquid mixture. Solids may attach to surfaces of bubbles. The attachment of the solids may be promoted by the turbulent flow of the froth-liquid mixture and the corresponding high-intensity mixing. The froth may comprise a charged material that creates a charged environment which further promotes the attachment.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 9, 2014Publication date: July 21, 2016Applicant: 643096 ALBERTA LIMITEDInventor: David BROMLEY

Patent number: 8839042Abstract: A system, apparatus, method, and computer program product for dynamically loading IT products and scaling those loads in a predictive manner are disclosed. Dynamic loading and scaling is performed by generating a load on a computing product with one or more first load generators, increasing the load over time until the first load generators reach their capacity for generating load, monitoring the capacity of the first load generators as the load is increased, provisioning one or more second load generators to generate additional load as any of the first load generators approaches its capacity, increasing the load generated by the second load generators over time until the one or more second load generators reach their capacity for generating load or the computing product reaches a performance goal, and continuing to provision second load generators until the computing product reaches the performance goal.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2012Date of Patent: September 16, 2014Assignee: CA, Inc.Inventors: Cameron David Bromley, John Joseph Michelsen, III, Ricardo Emilio Denis

Publication number: 20040226895Abstract: A high content recovery system which allows for the processing of animal waste and the reuse of the nutrient rich solids and water used in the processing of such animal waste. The recovery system includes a solids concentrator section which concentrates solids and aids in removal of the liquids, a liquid treatment section which treats the water in such manner to allow the same to be reused as potable water and an organic waste processing area. The system is efficient in using substantial portions of the animal waste, both as the nutrient rich solids for fertilizer and other applications and reuse of the water for further processing and other uses and thus effectively constitutes a zero waste discharge system.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 13, 2004Publication date: November 18, 2004Inventor: David Bromley

Patent number: 5340546Abstract: A gas filter comprising a tube open at one end for insertion of the element and a threadedly connectectable end cap for closing the housing are disclosed. Attached to the end cap and also to the opposite end of the housing are receptacles for receiving the ends of the filter therebetween. The receptacles are faced with a resilient seal to make the connection between the receptacle and the filter air-tight as the end cap is tightened. After effecting the seal at both ends of the filter, a pair of hollow hypodermic needles pierce membranes that closed off the ends of the filter. The other ends of the needles extend out of the housing at both ends allowing the connection of an inlet and outlet gas hose thereby establishing fluid communication between the hoses and permit gas to flow through the filter for cleansing. Two embodiments are disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 1993Date of Patent: August 23, 1994Inventor: David Bromley
