  • Patent number: 12460996
Abstract: A method for testing a rescue hoist that includes motor drive train. The motor drive train includes: a primary load brake, a secondary load brake and a cable drum comprising a cable. The method includes: reeling the cable out of the cable drum followed by reeling the cable in at a speed that is sufficient to disengage the primary load brake and verifying that the cable drum is rotating. When verified that the cable drum is rotating, the method further comprises the step of decreasing the motor torque output, before engaging the secondary brake. The method further comprises the step of verifying that said cable drum has stopped rotating, and if it is verified that the cable drum has stopped rotating, disengaging the secondary brake, restoring torque motor output and then reeling said cable is reeled into the homed position and the test is confirmed to have been passed.

  • Publication number: 20220397428
Abstract: Provided are embodiments for a method for variable differential transformer demodulation using a hybrid algorithm. The method can obtain a first feedback signal over a first half of a first cycle and a second feedback signal over a first half of a second cycle, and obtain a first calibration signal and a second calibration signal during a second half cycle of the first cycle. The method can also obtain an excitation signal over a second half of the second cycle, and determine a sensor position of the variable differential transformer based on the first feedback signal, the second feedback signal, and the excitation signal. Also provided are embodiments for a system for variable differential transformer demodulation using a hybrid algorithm.

  • Publication number: 20210158890
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to development of aptamers, and in particular to developing machine-learning models to describe characteristics of a given sequence for an aptamer and based on the characteristics find other sequences for aptamers not observed experimentally, and techniques for separating out sequences for aptamers that are present primarily due to PCR bias and/or binding affinity. Particularly, aspects of the present disclosure are directed to obtaining sequence data for an aptamer sequence that binds to a target, generating a binding affinity latent variable and a PCR bias latent variable based on the sequence data, generating a predicted count of the aptamer sequence based on the binding affinity latent variable and PCR bias latent variable, determining that the binding affinity latent variable is greater than the PCR bias latent variable, and in response to the determining, accepting the predicted count of the aptamer sequence.

  • Patent number: 10884148
Abstract: A method of geophysical exploration in a seismic survey includes acquiring a set of seismic traces based on seismic data obtained by a seismic receiver, responsive to seismic energy reflected from a subsurface geology. Additional steps include performing reverse time migration on the seismic traces using a velocity model that represents velocity of the seismic energy propagating through the seismic medium. The migrated gathers have an amplitude based at least in part on the migration, which can be corrected by computing synthetic seismograms to provide compensated gathers. Amplitude versus offset and/or amplitude versus angle analysis can be performed on the compensated gathers, in order to generate a seismic image of subsurface structures in the survey area.

  • Patent number: 10677207
Abstract: An axial piston pump has a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, and a rotatable, one-piece piston housing carrying one or more pistons movable within one or more respective sleeves formed by the housing. A circumferential row of fixed field members is mounted to the housing at a mounting location formed by the housing, the mounting location being radially outward of the sleeve(s). The pump further has a stator surrounding the piston housing and including a circumferential row of armature windings such that the piston housing and the stator form an electro-magnetic motor operable to rotate the piston housing, and a swashplate engaged with the piston(s) such that rotation of the piston housing relative to the swashplate around an axis of rotation produces reciprocating movement of the piston(s) for the pressurisation of fluid received into the sleeve(s) from the fluid inlet and then discharged from the sleeve(s) to the fluid outlet.

  • Patent number: 10228479
Abstract: Embodiments of dynamic gain adjustments in seismic surveys are described. One method of acquiring a seismic survey includes determining an arrival time at a seismic receiver of a downgoing seismic wavefield associated with a seismic source based at least in part on an estimated position of the seismic source, an estimated position of the seismic receiver, or combinations thereof. The method also includes adjusting a gain of the seismic receiver based at least in part on the determined arrival time of the downgoing seismic wavefield in order to, for example, help prevent overdriving or clipping of the seismic receiver when the downgoing seismic wavefield arrives at or passes by the seismic receiver.

  • Patent number: 10197062
Abstract: An aero-engine low pressure pump is provided for supplying fuel at a raised pressure to a high pressure pump. The low pressure pump has a pumping mechanism which raises the pressure of fuel flowing though the mechanism. The low pressure pump further has electrical motor which drives the pumping mechanism. The low pressure pump further has a variable frequency motor drive which supplies electrical power to the electrical motor. The variable frequency motor drive measures the electrical power supplied to the electrical motor. The low pressure pump further has a control unit which compares the measured electrical power to a reference power, and, when the measured electrical power is less than the reference power by a predetermined amount, controls the motor drive to increase the power supplied to the electrical motor thereby increasing the pressure rise produced by the pumping mechanism.
