A controller is connected to the light source and to the sensor. The controller controls operation of the sensor and receives sensing signals from the sensor. The controller activates the light source in response to infection detection and release the antimicrobial compound. The light-responsive antimicrobial compound may include a nitric oxide donor, such as S-nitroso-n-acetylpenacillamine, S-nitrosoglutathione, or N-diazeniumdiolate (NONOate). The light-responsive antimicrobial compound may include a photocatalyst metal oxide, such as ZnO, CuO, or TiO2.

The non-powered internal structural impediment may be permanently attached to the aspiration catheter or a separate component or device independently slidable within the lumen of the aspiration catheter.

The device can include a housing and an optical matrix arranged within the housing that are attached to a dosimetry device. The optical matrix includes a plurality of at least one of absorptive, reflective and/or partially transmissive regions or arrays of perforations that each permits a different percentage of light to be delivered to an individual's skin. Jigs can be included to arrange a plurality of varying exposures to be placed on the patient's skin. An assessment can then be made as to the maximum tolerable dose of phototherapy that can be applied to the individual's skin in order to place a skin condition into remission.

    Abstract: Rack-type backlight light emitting element (LEE) printed circuit boards (PCBs) with at least two layers to provide redundant current paths. This enables a PCB strip to be broken at designated perforations in the field in order to accommodate pipes or fixtures that require formation of a gap in the rack array. The entire length and width of an array can be sized in the field. A plurality of PCB arrays can be serially chained together with the system. A chain of PCB strips is snapped into clips, which in turn snap into rails that are fastened to a surface. The mounting system includes various types of clips, such as end clips, clips for different LEE patterns on the PCBs, and mounting clips to secure the rails to a surface.
