Abstract: An ITE hearing device or insertion into an auditory canal of a user has a housing formed with an end wall and a side wall which, in the inserted state, is oriented toward an inner wall of the auditory canal. The ITE hearing device further includes at least one microphone arranged in the housing as well as a sound opening arranged at the end wall of the housing for the transmission of sound to the at least one microphone. The sound opening is connected via a sound channel to the at least one microphone. The sound channel is at least partially formed by a lateral recess formed in the side wall of the housing.
