Abstract: A fire apparatus includes a chassis, a front cabin coupled to the chassis, a body coupled to the chassis, an operator platform coupled to the chassis and extending between the front cabin and the body, a step assembly positioned at a lateral end of the operator platform, a control panel coupled to the body, a body step coupled to the body and positioned to facilitate the operator with climbing from the operator platform onto a top side of the body, a pump system, and a mechanical linkage extending from the control panel to the pump system. The pump system includes a pump, an inlet fitting, and an outlet fitting. A first one of the inlet fitting or the outlet fitting is positioned forward of the operator platform. A second one of the inlet fitting or the outlet fitting is positioned rearward of the operator platform.

Abstract: A fire apparatus includes: a chassis; a tractive element coupled to the chassis; a front cabin coupled to the chassis; a body coupled to the chassis and positioned rearward of the front cabin, the body defining a storage compartment; a control panel coupled to the body and positioned such that the storage compartment extends beneath the control panel, the control panel including a control lever; a controllable element coupled to the chassis; and a linkage coupling the control lever to the controllable element, the linkage extending around the storage compartment.

Abstract: A firefighting vehicle includes a frame, a fluid pump, and a body having a compartment. In one embodiment, a drive line of the pump passes through a transverse cross member of the frame. In another embodiment, the body includes opposite side sections sandwiching the pump therebetween. In another embodiment, the vehicle includes a pumphouse module in which the body is mounted so as to move in unison with the body relative to the frame. In another embodiment, the vehicle includes a control panel operably coupled to the pump and extending through an opening in the compartment. In another embodiment, the compartment includes a wall having a C-shaped bulkhead.
