  • Patent number: 12226623
Abstract: A centrifugal blood pump includes a housing having a pumping chamber, an inlet having an inlet axis, and an outlet having an outlet axis. The inlet and the outlet are in fluid communication with the pumping chamber. The pump further includes an impeller rotatably disposed within the pumping chamber, and a strut connected to the housing at the inlet. The strut is connected to the housing at a circumferential position about the inlet axis such that a major axis of the strut and the outlet axis define a predetermined angle in a cross-sectional plane perpendicular to the inlet axis. The circumferential position of the strut relative the outlet axis reduces or eliminates damage to blood flowing around the strut.

  • Publication number: 20240350790
Abstract: An adaptor for use in a blood conduit of an extracorporeal life support system. The adaptor includes a body defining a main passageway and an auxiliary port extending from the body with a passageway of the auxiliary port converging with the main passageway. The auxiliary port includes a hemostasis valve configured to selectively seal around a medical device inserted through the auxiliary port into the main passageway. An elastomeric valve may be positioned in the passageway of the auxiliary port spaced away from the hemostasis valve such that elastomeric valve is located between the hemostasis valve and the main passageway. In some instances, the hemostasis valve may be removably couplable to the auxiliary port.

  • Publication number: 20230201789
Abstract: Compositions and methods for generating ClO2 gas are disclosed. A composition that includes a chlorite salt is activated by exposure to ultraviolet light. After an optional storage period, the composition is then exposed to moisture, resulting in the generation of ClO2 gas. Exemplary compositions include polymers in which the chlorite salt is dispersed. The polymers may be used to form films that can be used to package, e.g., food products, pharmaceutical products, medical devices, and/or laboratory devices. Upon exposure to ultraviolet light and moisture, the packaging releases controlled quantities of ClO2 gas, which may disinfect and/or deodorize the packaged device or product.

  • Publication number: 20230186262
Abstract: Current Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) rely on numerous legacy systems that can be altered or fail. The disclosed devices, methods and systems, present technical solutions to this problem which improves the functionality of NFT systems by storing all relevant information in a blockchain. A NFT may be created that is associated with a Page. An author/owner of the Page may insert Posts by calling a function on a smart contract that created the NFT. The Post is verified as coming from the owner of the Page and is placed into a logging or storage portion of a blockchain. People wishing to view the NFT may pull the logs or storage for the smart contract and obtain all content associated with that Page and optional Tag. Commands may also be placed in the Content to further modify the Page or organize the information. Posts can be used as building blocks.

  • Publication number: 20220353082
Abstract: Devices, methods, and systems that thwart deepfake modification of media, and/or verify the identity of a person and that their communications have not been altered, among other applications. A device is configured to use sensors to record a corroborating data set (CDS) pertaining to the user in near real time. The CDS is encrypted or signed by a user's private key to create a cryptographic verification code (CVC). The CVC may be displayed, emitted, or otherwise distributed by the totem device. Alternatively, the CVC may be superimposed or embedded as metadata in media produced by the device. The CVC cannot be modified with deepfake techniques while image and video data may be modified with deepfake techniques. Analysis of media containing a CVC can confirm whether the CVC is authentic, and whether the CDS contained within is consistent with the depiction of the user in the media.

Abstract: An intelligent monitoring device including a processor and an accelerometer and/or a device that includes at least one processor and at least one image sensor. The intelligent monitoring device is configured to observe at least one machine. The intelligent monitoring device is further configured to utilize its processor, or the processor of a coupled system, to recognize actions carried out on or by the at least one machine and infer the state of the machine. The intelligent monitoring device or the coupled system is further configured to provide alerts or help respond to queries about the status of the at least one machine. For example, the intelligent monitoring camera will infer the state of a washing machine based on its observations and provide an alert (optionally only to the user recognized to have loaded the washer) when the washing machine is ready to be unloaded.

  • Patent number: 11348140
Abstract: A computing system is configured to receive location data from a wireless device of a user. Upon receiving a search request from the wireless device, the computing system utilizes the location data to determine one or more likely travel routes of the user of the wireless device. In response to the search request, the computing system may select one or more establishments based on the likely travel routes and location data associated with the one or more establishments. The computing system may further transmit to the wireless device information associated with the selected one or more establishments.

  • Publication number: 20210383719
Abstract: An infant development device or toy including a body configured to be held by an adult, and a directional input manipulated by an infant. The device or toy performs various functions in response to different directional input provided by the infant. For example, the toy may provide audio output corresponding with the directional input and/or visual output on a display device corresponding with the directional input. The toy may also include one or more additional input devices designed to be manipulated by the adult to provide positive reinforcement or corrective prompts to the infant. To use the toy, the adult carries the infant while holding the toy in one hand. The adult then walks the infant in the direction (forward, backward, turn right, turn left, etc.) indicated by the toy in response to the infant's manipulation of the directional input device. Other variations and uses for the device are contemplated.
