  • Patent number: 11648733
Abstract: Examples of the present disclosure relate to a container for storing a material for a printing system. The container has a channel structure for conveying the material, the channel structure providing an opening of the container and an axis of the channel structure defining an axial direction. The container also has a valve structure disposed within the channel structure. The valve structure is translatable within the channel structure between a proximal position and a distal position in the axial direction. The valve structure is non-rotatable relative to the channel structure about the axis of the channel structure. The valve structure is arranged to seal the channel structure when the valve structure is in the proximal position.

  • Publication number: 20210276261
Abstract: A system and method for operating a supply station in a three-dimensional printer are provided. The system includes a control unit, including a processor to execute modules. An install module confirms parameters of a build material container after the build material container is secured into a supply station to determine if the parameters match expected parameters. The install module releases the build material container if the parameters do not match the expected parameters.

  • Publication number: 20210206075
Abstract: A three-dimensional (3D) printer material cartridge for a 3D printer includes an indicator disposed on an exterior surface of the 3D printer material cartridge. The indicator colorant is responsive to energy from an energy source of the 3D printer. The indicator is a message that becomes visible in response to exposure of the colorant to the energy.

  • Publication number: 20210206082
Abstract: A three-dimensional (3D) printer includes a cartridge receiver to receive a material cartridge containing new material for generation of a 3D object. The 3D printer also includes an energy source disposed to expose an indicator on the material cartridge to energy in response to depletion of the new material in the material cartridge to change the appearance of the indicator. The changed appearance of the indicator indicates that the material cartridge no longer contains new material.

  • Publication number: 20210129449
Abstract: Examples of the present disclosure relate to a method of manufacturing a container for a printing material. The method includes providing a first portion of the container comprising an opening circumscribed by an annular wall. The method then includes providing a second portion comprising an annular cavity, followed by joining the two portions by advancing the annular wall into the annular cavity by applying a compressive force in an axial direction of the opening, and temporarily rotating the first portion and the second portion relative to each other to fuse the first and second portions.
