  • Patent number: 6789467
Abstract: The present invention provides systems for the injection delivery of at least two fluid doses to a small bird by penetrating the skin of the recipient bird with at least two injection needles. It is then possible to simultaneously inject drugs, or other fluid vaccines that do not mix well or whose mixture would be detrimental to the stability or efficacy of the active ingredients therein. The present invention provides a novel injection needle support for connecting the injection needles to dose distributors and fluid supply containers while maintaining the injection ends of the injection needles in a substantially parallel arrangement. The injection needle support typically is attached to a carrier connected to an actuator, an actuator power source and a switch mechanism wherein the actuator, when activated, can reciprocally move the carrier and injection support toward and away from an injection position.

  • Patent number: 6042320
Abstract: An automatic feeding station (10) for receiving a plurality of binding elements (70), packaged in a continuous bandolier strip (74), and feeding same into an inserter station (12), for the automatic edge binding of a stack of sheets. The feeding station (12) comprises a housing consisting of a pair of vertically oriented end walls (14,16), and a pair of downwardly extending, angularly disposed walls (18, 20) converging at the bottom of the housing. A first such angular wall (18) defines the feed path for the bandolier strip (74) consisting of a pair of continuous plastic films (76, 78) joined at spaced apart intervals to define plural, laterally oriented pockets or cavities (80) to receive the binding elements (70) in a spaced apart, parallel relationship.

  • Patent number: 5823233
Abstract: A cutting and crimping apparatus (14) for automatically cutting and finishing the ends of a spiral coil. The apparatus (14) comprises a jaw set (17) comprising a first fixed plate (20), a second fixed plate (50), a cut plate (70) and a push plate (130), each plate having a tooth extending therefrom capable of engaging the coil. The plates are substantially flat and disposed in sliding contact with each other. The cut plate (70) of the apparatus (14) is driven in a reciprocating, substantially linear motion by a linkage (100) mechanically coupled to a motor (18).

  • Patent number: 5515580
Abstract: A binding tie device used to either confine and constrict a single object, or else hold two or more objects snugly together. The binding tie includes a length of curled cord (10) which will recoil to its curled shape after being stretched straight, a chain (12), made of bead type chain, and split ring (24). The working end of cord (10) and the first end of chain (12) are connected together. Split ring (24) is connected to the second end of chain (12). Split ring (24) is employed to stretch the cord straight and wind it in either direction around the object being tied. Cord (10) automatically turns allowing it to first uncoil when stretched and then recoil as it is wound around the object thereby securely binding the object. Cord (10) is untied by winding in the opposite direction. The first end of chain (12) may be positioned on cord (10) so that the tie with attached object can be hung up or attached by split ring (24).

  • Patent number: 5375949
Abstract: A device and method are disclosed for forming the S-video record enable I.D. hole in VHS, 8 mm and VHS-C videocassettes. Three specially adapted hole forming implements and their method of use are described. These implements are adapted to avoid forming loose debris from the hole forming process and to prevent such debris which is created from entering the cassette mechanism. The invention provides for automatic positioning of the hole forming implements and for control of their movement by use of positioning plates which are specially adapted to fit on the videocassettes in a singular and specific manner. The invention further provides for controlling the operation and movement of the hole forming implements by use of guide bushings which are integral to the positioning plates. The methods used for forming the hole include cutting, piercing and melting through the plastic cassette shell.
