  • Patent number: 9569942
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods are disclosed for securing a theft-susceptible movable object at a selected location. A security system is positioned at a selected location for protection of a theft-susceptible movable object. The security system includes a magnetic field source adapted to generate a magnetic field that is positionally-associated with a movable object. A monitoring device includes a magnetic sensor and is adapted for placement proximate to the selected location. The monitoring device is adapted to take one or more measurements of the magnetic field and to detect alteration in the measurements caused by movement of the magnetic field source relative to the monitoring device when the movable object is moved from the selected location. Upon detecting the alteration in the measurements of the magnetic field, the monitoring device is adapted to output an electronic warning signal indicating that the movable object has moved from the selected location.

  • Patent number: 7167481
Abstract: A switch fabric for switching data traffic according to a plurality of links. The data traffic may convey audio information, video information, or any other type of information. The switch fabric includes input, output and at least one intermediate stages, each stage including a plurality of switching elements. The switching elements of the input and output stages respectively have external input and output ports. The switch fabric further includes a switch fabric controller. The switch fabric controller includes a link database including information about the plurality of links. The switch fabric controller is operative to search the link database to identify symmetrical links and to establish internal pathways between the input stage and the output stage through the at least one intermediate stage, wherein at least two symmetrical links identified by the searching are realized using a common switching element of the at least one intermediate stage.

  • Patent number: 6859453
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, media and signals for providing clear channel access on a network are disclosed. A first method involves receiving a communication signal from a remote network element. The communication signal includes a previous transport overhead (PTOH) portion indicative of transport overhead contents of the communication signal prior to arrival at the remote network element, and a previous path error (PPE) portion indicative of path errors present in the communication signal at the remote network element. The method then involves modifying a transport overhead portion of the communication signal in response to the PTOH and PPE portions.

  • Box
    Patent number: 5621387
Abstract: A box for covering components or the like and for preventing unwanted access thereto. The box comprises a mounting panel having a pair of opposed sides, a top portion, a bottom portion and a back portion. The back portion is adapted to receive a fastener for mounting the mounting panel to a mounting surface. A cover fastener is received within the mounting panel. A slot is formed in the mounting panel and a corresponding tang is located within the cover which is adapted to receive an alarm device therein and removably envelop the mounting panel. A second opening is located in the cover for receiving the cover fastener when said mounting panel is enveloped within the cover.

  • Patent number: 4949372
Abstract: A remote actuated command circuit establishes telephone communications between a communications device at a remote location and a local communications terminal device without interference from a telephone answering machine connected to the incoming telephone line. The remote actuated command circuit establishes these communications when it receives from the remote communications device a predetermined signal not normally available to a telephone user.

  • Patent number: 4847719
Abstract: The contacts of an electrical switch, such as a magnetic contact reed switch or a magnetic contact reed relay used in a burglar alarm system, are protected from being fused together by transient current surges. This protection is accomplished by providing a normally nonconductive shunting path in parallel with the switch. The shunting path includes a voltage responsive device which is biased to conduction in response to a current surge to thereby complete the shunting path and allow the current surge to bypass the switch.
