  • Publication number: 20260058010
Abstract: The present disclosure pertains to an in vitro method for the diagnostic classification of cancer based on the biological state of specific genomic sites. The disclosure provides a method that allows for a classification of a tumour sample obtained from a patient by analysing a multitude, preferably genome wide, collection of gene sites, combining the biological state of the analysed gene sites into a biological state pattern and comparing with pre-determined biological state patterns pertaining to different cancer types or tumour species. The disclosure is in particular useful for classifying cancer e.g. of the central nervous system, such as brain tumour samples and tumours of the spinal cord, since these are characterized by a large variety of distinct tumour species which have different prognostic values and require a developed treatment regime for each species in the clinical context. However, other cancers could similarly profit from the disclosure, for example sarcomas.

  • Publication number: 20180066317
Abstract: The present invention pertains to methods for classifying tumorous diseases based on their specific genomic DNA methylation profile. The invention provides a method that allows for a classification of a tumor sample obtained from a patient by analysing a multitude, preferably genome wide, collection of CpG positions by comparison to a classification rule derived from a set of methylation data acquired from pre-classified tumor species. The invention is in particular useful for classifying brain tumor samples since brain tumors are characterized by a large variety of distinct tumor species which have different prognostic values and require in the clinic a for each species developed treatment regime.

  • Patent number: 9297812
Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of diagnostic tests and diagnostic tools. Specifically, contemplated is to a method for diagnosing cancer in a sample of a subject suspected to suffer from cancer comprising contacting the sample with an antibody which specifically binds to the epitope characterized by SEQ ID NO 1 on a BRAF polypeptide under conditions which allow for binding of said antibody to the epitope and determining binding of the antibody to the epitope, whereby cancer is diagnosed. Further contemplated are antibodies which specifically bind to the epitope characterized by SEQ ID NO 1 on a BRAF polypeptide and a device or kit comprising such antibodies.

  • Publication number: 20070230719
Abstract: An efficient method and apparatus for converting audio signals into mechanical vibrations is disclosed, the apparatus comprising a simple transducer. The transducer forms a dynamic magnetic field in response to an electronic signal. The dynamic field causes a mass positioned within the field to vibrate. When the mass is contacted to a surface of a structure, sound emanates from the structure.

  • Publication number: 20060104456
Abstract: A device and method for transmitting sound waves between a signal source and a user's ears, wherein the sound waves bypass the air. The sound waves are conducted by the user's teeth and bones to the user's ears, where they are perceived as sound. Sound-transmitting toothbrushes and the like are described to transmit and/or conduct sound to the user's ear, while the user is brushing his or her teeth. The toothbrush head and a signal source are configured to produce sound waves for transmission through the toothbrush head to the user's mouth, and a tension controller is configured to control the volume of the sound waves based on the pressure applied by the toothbrush head. The signal source may produce sound waves directly or with the assistance of a transducer. The signal source may be replaceable, connect to a replaceable cartridge, or connect to an adaptor capable of downloading data to allow the signal source data to be replaceable.

  • Publication number: 20060024034
Abstract: A video game system including a compact disc programmed with video and audio data and designed to continuously update a player device with informational data to facilitate dynamic sequencing of video tracks during video game play. A unique uncomplicated development methodology is disclosed for the format information on the disc and the programming of the player device providing advantages of achieving strategic video gaming and fast action gaming, exclusively from the manipulation of a user's input during play via six operable navigational buttons. The navigational buttons thus affect the player device selection of video tracks through format information added to image frames of the disc. Numerous benefits are provided including the use of high quality video images and DVD style gaming applications in a low cost system which utilizes inexpensive standard disc media, such game discs are developed at substantially reduced programming cost relative to other game programming technologies.
