  • Publication number: 20210384403
Abstract: A bulk superconductor device is disclosed, comprising a single grain RE-BCO element incorporating reinforcing fibres. The single grain (RE)BCO element comprises RE-211 pinning sites disposed in a RE-123 matrix and further comprises Ag. The reinforcing fibres comprise a ceramic such as SiC and a refractory metal such as W. The reinforcing fibres comprise a core formed of the refractory metal and a ceramic cladding surrounding the core. The device may be manufactured by a top seeded melt growth process or by a top seeded infiltration growth process.

  • Publication number: 20160357911
Abstract: A computerized clinical action system and method supports a comprehensive view of member health status and identification of candidates for numerous clinical actions such as health alerts and clinical interventions. The computerized system and method facilitate clinical action integration and coordination by providing the infrastructure to share key member information among clinical actions. The computerized system and method comprises a clinical guidance exchange (CGX) that receives and accesses member data from a plurality of sources to facilitate creation of integrated member profiles. The CGX further receives and accesses clinical data from a clinical data hub that integrates clinical data from numerous sources. A rules guidance exchange (RGX) facilitates the identification of candidates for clinical actions through the application of clinical and business rules.

  • Publication number: 20080095923
Abstract: A seed crystal for the fabrication of a superconductor is grown from a rare-earth oxide having the basic formula XwZtBaxCuyOz, X comprising at least one rare-earth element and Z being a dopant which raises the peritectic decomposition temperature (Tp) of the oxide. In a preferred embodiment, the dopant is Mg. Use of this rare-earth oxide material for seed crystals increases the temperature at which cold-seeding can be performed and thus enables the growth of a wider range of bulk superconductor materials by this process.

  • Publication number: 20060124050
Abstract: The invention provides a method of manufacturing a doped i X—Ba—Cu-0 material, the method comprising the steps of: a) mixing an X—Ba-L-0 or X—Ba—Cu-L-0 material with an X-1 Ba—Cu—O material; and b) crystallising the mixture; 1 wherein each X is independently selected from a rare earth (Group IIIB) element, yttrium, a combination of rare earth elements, or a combination of yttrium and a rare earth element; and L is selected from U, Nb, Ta, Mo, W, Zr, Hf, Ag, Pt, Ru and Sn. The invention further provides a doped material manufactured by the method of the invention.
