Abstract: A generator network of a variational autoencoder can be trained to approximate a simulator and generate a first result. The simulator is associated with input data, based on which the simulator outputs output data. A training data set for the generator network can include the simulator's input data and output data. Based on the simulator's output data and the first result of the generator network, an inference network of the variational autoencoder can be trained to generate a second result. The second result of the trained inference network inverts the first result of the generator and approximates the simulator's input data. The trained inference network can function as an inverted simulator.

Abstract: An arrangement of envelope packages, the arrangement including a plurality of discreet envelope packages, each package including a plurality of generally aligned envelopes which are compressed together. The plurality of envelope packages are arranged in a first row and a second row located above the first row in a vertical direction thereof. Abstract: Flame hardening method and apparatus for tempering gear teeth and the like which comprises quench means for rapidly cooling selected ones of the gear teeth to a temperature which avoids the formation of decomposition products, and a heat source spaced from the quench means for raising the temperature of selected ones of the gear teeth to a value which promotes the formation of an austenitic structure.Mount means rotatably support the gear with selected ones of the circumferentially extending teeth being placed in heat transfer relationship with the heat source and the quench.Index means rotate the gear an amount which moves one gear tooth from the heat source to the quench means in a manner whereby all of the teeth of the gear must be treated one time before any tooth can be treated a second time.

Abstract: A drill bit for use in concentrically arranged dual drill strings. The bit has an outlet eccentrically arranged respective to its longitudinal axial centerline, and a formation engaging surface made of a plurality of spiraling faces which diminish in area as the cutting face curves about and toward the outlet. The area located between the spiraling faces form fluid conveying passageways through which a jet of fluid is directed toward the outlet, thereby carrying therewith cuttings formed by the spiral faces of the bit.
