  • Patent number: 9872445
Abstract: A turf management system includes an irrigation system for providing water to the turf at a turf site, and an irrigation evaluation system for evaluating the performance of the irrigation system. The irrigation evaluation system segments the turf site into irrigation management units, where each of the irrigation management units includes at least one sprinkler head. Qualities of the turf are measured to generate collected data points. The data points are used by the irrigation evaluation system to compute a value for the turf in each of the irrigation management units. The values can then be used to identify irrigation management units having common characteristics. The values can be used to define irrigation management zones for controlling the irrigation system.

  • Patent number: 9480363
Abstract: An bottle warming apparatus may be provided. The apparatus may include a bottle for storing food and fluids. The bottle may include a recessed portion and indentations positioned on opposite sides of the bottle. Additionally, the apparatus may include a bottle housing configured to receive the bottle. The apparatus may also include a heating element that is positionable into the recessed portion of the bottle. Furthermore, the apparatus may include a pressure-sensitive switch that activates the apparatus when the bottle exerts enough pressure against the switch as the bottle is positioned into the bottle housing. Heat may be generated by the heating element when the apparatus is activated and be utilized to warm the bottle. The apparatus may further include a temperature sensor for measuring a temperature of the bottle. A signal may be transmitted to instruct the apparatus to deactivate when an optimal temperature is reached.

  • Patent number: 9393457
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to impact type training equipment for sports. More particularly, the present invention provides a portable impact assessment device that can be utilized across a broad variety of sports equipment to allow an athlete to measure various aspects of impact training. The apparatus generally includes an impact module constructed of a flexible material. The impact module is constructed and arranged to be sufficiently thin and compact to be placed within an impact type training aid within the impact target area of the device. The impact module is fluidly connected to an electronics module so that, upon impacting the training aid, the impact module is compressed to send a fluid signal to the electronics module. A pressure sensor within the electronics module receives the fluid signal generating an electric output that is displayed on a multi digit digital display.

  • Patent number: 9222866
Abstract: Evaluating ground surface hardness for a site involves using a mobile data collection device to automatically drop an object including an accelerometer onto a ground surface at sample locations spaced at regular intervals within the site. The acceleration of the object is detected with the accelerometer as the object impacts the ground surface at the sample locations. A value is generated representative of ground surface hardness for each of the sample locations. Evaluation using a handheld hardness measurement device is also disclosed.
