Publication number: 20220373381Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for measuring flowrates. The systems and methods may include passing a fluid from a unit under test into a cavity. The pressure of the fluid within the cavity may be measure and a slidable element located within the cavity may be repositioned to maintain a desired pressure within the cavity. The distance traveled by the slidable element in order to maintain the desired pressure may be determined along with a time for the slidable element to travel the distance. Using the distance traveled by the slidable element, a crosssectional area of the slidable element in contact with the fluid, and the time for the slidable element to travel the distance the volumetric flowrate for the fluid may be determined.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 11, 2019Publication date: November 24, 2022Inventors: Anthony Hase, Jeremy Ames, David Castagnetta

Patent number: 11473951Abstract: An apparatus and method for use in determining one or more fluid flow properties of a fluid in a conduit is disclosed. The apparatus includes a substrate including a barrier, a first flow sensor coupled to the substrate and a second flow sensor coupled to the substrate. The first flow sensor is located at a first sensor distance from a first barrier surface, and the second flow sensor is located a second sensor distance from the second barrier surface. The first sensor distance is substantially equal to the second sensor distance. In operation, the first flow sensor produces a first sensor signal, and the second flow sensor produces a second sensor signal. The direction of flow for the fluid is determined by comparing the first sensor signal to the second sensor signal.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2019Date of Patent: October 18, 2022Assignee: TSI IncorporatedInventors: Anthony Hase, Jeremy Ames, David Castagnetta

Publication number: 20070297843Abstract: A tool for applying mastic to drywall, having a flexible trowelling bar for smoothing and shaping the applied mastic. The curvature of the trowelling bar is controlled by the rotation of a cam that is positioned on a rigid support and that is directly coupled to the trowelling bar through a link. Springs are positioned between the rigid support and the trowelling bar to maintain tension on the link during rotation of the cam. The springs exert pressure on the trowelling bar through plungers having rounded feet that maintain consistent contact with the trowelling bar as the curvature of the trowelling bar changes.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 10, 2007Publication date: December 27, 2007Inventor: David Castagnetta

Publication number: 20070044923Abstract: A taper tool for applying tape to a wall surface is provided. The taper tool may simultaneously advance tape and apply mastic to the advancing tape. The taper tool may include a jam clearing assembly for clearing tape jams occurring along the tape path. The taper tool may include a body for holding mastic and a taper head coupled to an end of the body. The taper head includes a housing defining an opening and a mastic ejection nozzle, both of which are in fluid communication with the body. The opening facilitates introduction of mastic into the body and the nozzle facilitates ejection of the mastic from the body onto the tape. The taper head also includes a valve positioned within the opening to control introduction of mastic into the body, and a cover plate removeably connected to the housing to cover both the opening and the nozzle.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 26, 2005Publication date: March 1, 2007Applicant: AXIA, INC.Inventors: Matt Jungklaus, David Castagnetta

Publication number: 20060230564Abstract: An extendable handle for a drywall tool having a pair of telescoping tubes that are reversibly locked in place relative to each other by a locking assembly comprising a lever, a pin and a yoke that are mounted on a base positioned on a first tube. The pin is actuated by the lever and engages an opening on the second tube to lock the tubes in place. The pin and lever are spaced apart circumferentially on the handle and are connected by the yoke. The yoke is received in a slot in the base and does not extend beyond the surface of base during operation of the lever.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 19, 2005Publication date: October 19, 2006Applicant: Axia, Inc.Inventors: Matt Jungklaus, David Castagnetta

Patent number: 5709698Abstract: A shaver blade assembly useable in either an irrigation-only mode, an aspiration-only mode or an irrigation/aspiration mode. The shaver blade assembly has a stationary elongated outer tube and a movable (e.g. rotatable) elongated inner tube, both inner and outer tubes having hubs attached to their proximal ends for attachment to a handpiece which provides power to move the inner blade relative to the outer blade. The inner and outer tubes are provided with cutting windows at their distal tips and the relative movement between these cutting windows acts to cut tissue during surgical procedures. The outer tube is provided with a fluid inlet port at the proximal end of its tubular surface and a fluid adapter is selectively attachable to the outer tube so as to provide a means for introducing irrigating fluid into the fluid port. The adapter is integrally formed with sealing surfaces which obviate the need for O-rings and the like.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 1996Date of Patent: January 20, 1998Assignee: Linvatec CorporationInventors: Kenneth M.
