  • Publication number: 20050248719
Abstract: A pair of glasses with first and second lens holders for receiving lenses, a bridge element that couples the lens holders, and a pair of temples. The temples are pivotally secured to the lens holders. In one embodiment, the glasses further include a speaker being powered by a power source. The pair of glasses can deliver information through the speaker to the person wearing the glasses. The information being delivered can be wirelessly transmitted to the glasses from a remote device. The information can be pre-recorded and available at the glasses, or the information can be wirelessly received by the glasses as it is produced. The information can be relevant to an event, and available for a relatively short duration of time. In another embodiment, a pair of glasses further includes an information input mechanism that allows the person to input information into the glasses. Such input information can be wirelessly transmitted from the glasses to a remote device.

  • Publication number: 20040263774
Abstract: A number of eyeglass frames with resilient structures and shields that have wide applicability are described. In one embodiment, an auxiliary frame has a resilient structure at its bridge area, and non-uniform shields. The shields have openings at their sides and retaining mechanisms. Due to its resilient nature, the auxiliary frame is adaptable to after-market sales for primary frames. In yet another embodiment, a primary frame has a resilient structure at its bridge area and has shields. Such a primary frame again allows it to be comfortably fitted to people whose heads are of different sizes and shapes.

  • Patent number: 6530660
Abstract: The present invention is directed to eyeglasses provided with at least one reversible arm that can be manipulated to fold in towards the outer (front) face of the lens retaining portion of the frame, thereby covering it. The arm can be attached to the frames in a variety of ways. For instance, the attachment can be mechanical, or magnetism may be employed in fixing the arm to the frame. Several structural arrangements are described that permit reversal of the arm from a position behind the lens retaining portion of the frame to a position in front thereof. The arm can then be folded to cover the front and back sides of the lenses.
