  • Patent number: 9572387
Abstract: An improved edge band for a protective helmet includes a flexible woven-fiber elongate band applied to the edge of a helmet shell. The elongate band is positioned such that side edges of the elongate band extend in intimately conforming contact along a surface contour of the helmet shell. The edge band includes a matrix material in contact with fibers of the elongate band.

  • Publication number: 20170018046
Abstract: A computer-assisted method and system for assisting a user in evaluating a set of parameters in an electronic document. The method comprises accessing a first electronic variable data document having a first set of parameters provided by a first user corresponding to a first set of parameters in an electronic negotiated document. Then, the first electronic variable data document is compared to a second electronic variable data document. Differences between the first set of parameters of the first electronic variable data document and a second set of parameters of the second electronic variable data document are identified. The differences are categorized and labeled. A comparison report is generated including the categorized and labeled differences and an interpretation of the identified differences between the first set of parameters of the first electronic variable data document and the second set of parameters of the second electronic variable data document.

  • Patent number: 9072328
Abstract: A hinge mechanism for attaching ear accessories to a helmet allows an accessory to be attached at a point outside the helmet shell utilizing, for example, a slidable mounting rail, and to reach under the edge of the helmet shell so that the accessory is supported in contact with the wearer's head. The hinge mechanism is well suited for use in connection with military helmets that have a “bulge” or protrusion over the ear.

  • Patent number: 8819870
Abstract: A headgear adjustment mechanism is provided that includes a worm having a central axis of rotation, a first headband element, a second headband element, a spur gear, and a housing. The first headband element includes (i) a worm rack disposed in operative engagement with the worm, and (ii) a first pinion rack. The second headband element includes a second pinion rack. The spur gear is disposed in simultaneous operative engagement with the first pinion rack and the second pinion rack, and the housing at least partially encloses the first and second headband elements. During operation of the adjustment mechanism, rotation of the worm about the axis of rotation causes the first headband element and the second headband element to translate in opposite directions with respect to the worm, thereby adjusting a fit of the headgear.
