  • Publication number: 20180373515
Abstract: A mechanism for generating optimized native code for a program having dynamic behavior uses a static analysis of the program to predict the likelihood that different elements of the program are likely to be used when the program executes. The static analysis is performed prior to execution of the program and marks certain elements of the program with confidence indicators that classify the elements with either a high level of confidence or a low level of confidence. The confidence indicators are then used by an ahead-of-time native compiler to generate native code and to optimize the code for faster execution and/or a smaller-sized native code.

  • Publication number: 20180365033
Abstract: Compatibility can be maintained when program code and pre-computed data associated with the program code are distributed in separate modules by using a data structure of key/value pairs comprising a dictionary. The dictionary can include a fixed part, a floating part and a version number. The version number in the dictionary can be used to determine if a dictionary for the program is current or outdated by comparing the dictionary version number and the version number associated with a dictionary layout in the current shared library. The dictionary can be rebuilt dynamically if the version number of the dictionary does not match the version number of the dictionary layout in the current shared library. The version number of the dictionary can be updated to the version associated with the layout version and the version pointer in the dictionary can be updated to point to the updated version number.

  • Patent number: 10152145
Abstract: A method is provided to interface an active stylus with a sensor controller, wherein the sensor controller is coupled to a sensor configured to receive input from the active stylus. In the method the sensor controller defines data frames consisting of more than one time slot usable for receiving packets from the stylus. The active stylus transmits, in response to a request from the sensor controller, a signal including stylus capability information. The sensor controller determines, based on the stylus capability information, a downlink time slot allocation for use by the active stylus to transmit packets to the sensor controller. The sensor controller transmits the downlink time slot allocation to the active stylus.

  • Patent number: 10129130
Abstract: Managing connections for execution of a client software application. A client software application is analyzed before execution of the application using code analysis and, optionally non-functional metadata analysis, of the application to determine one or more classifications of operations of the application. A mapping of application operation classifications to server characteristics suited to the application operation classifications is maintained. Multiple servers currently available to process at least a portion of the client software application may be monitored, and each of the multiple servers may be characterized according to their performance and resources. The classifications of operations of the analyzed application may be compared to the characteristics of the multiple servers currently available using the mapping, and a server may be selected based on the comparison.

  • Patent number: 10128116
Abstract: Efficient integrated sequential deposition of alternating layers of dielectric and conductor, for example oxide/metal or metal nitride, e.g., SiO2/TiN, in a single tool, and even in a single process chamber enhances throughput without compromising quality when directly depositing a OMOM stack with many layers. Conductor and dielectric film deposition of a stack of at least 20 conductor/dielectric film pairs in the same processing tool or chamber, without breaking vacuum between the film depositions, such that there is no substantial cross-contamination between the conductor and dielectric film depositions, can be achieved.
