Publication number: 20100320164Abstract: Some embodiments of a display apparatus can present a variety of products or images of available products in an appealing manner that draws attention from consumers. In particular circumstances, the display apparatus may be readily changed by a store worker from a first configuration to a second configuration having a different appearance. For example, the display apparatus may include a generally rigid frame that receives a decorative, external sheathing in a toolless manner. Such a configuration can be useful, for example, for endcap display fixtures that are positioned at the end of store aisles, thereby providing an opportunity to promptly change the appearance of one or more endcaps and the products exhibited thereon.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 18, 2009Publication date: December 23, 2010Applicant: TARGET BRANDS, INC.Inventors: Jeremy A. Patent number: 7787258Abstract: An apparatus and method provide supplemental support to an electronic card from above, such as along a longitudinal edge of a PCI card opposite an edge connector on the motherboard. The supplemental support may be provided at any of a plurality of locations along the edge of the card, to avoid interference with certain features on the card and to accommodate cards of a variety of shapes and sizes. One embodiment provides a support apparatus that includes a track secured to the computer chassis over the card, and is generally aligned with a longitudinal edge of the electronic card. A collar is disposed on the track and is moveable to any of a plurality of positions along the track. A plunger is inserted through the collar and is movable with respect to the collar into engagement with the longitudinal edge of the electronic card. A first locking member is activated in response to inserting the plunger into the collar to prevent relative movement of the collar and the plunger with respect to the track.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 2007Date of Patent: August 31, 2010Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Lorin David Cheney, Walter Adrian Goodman

Publication number: 20090087381Abstract: Provided herein are chelator-functionalized nanoparticles comprising a passive core; and an active coating that demonstrate T1 magnetic resonance pattern upon exposure to a magnetic field. Also provided are methods of making such chelator-functionalized nanoparticles as well as imaging methods using the nanoparticles.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 28, 2007Publication date: April 2, 2009Applicant: GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANYInventors: Zhebo Ding, Brian James Grimmond, Michael Luttrell, Slawomir Rubinsztajn, David Cheney deMoulpied, Margaret L. Publication number: 20090087383Abstract: The present invention is generally directed to core/shell nanoparticles, wherein such core/shell nanoparticles comprise a nanoparticle core and a nanoshell disposed about the nanoparticle core such that, in the aggregate, they form a core/shell nanoparticle that is operable for use as an imaging agent in X-ray/computed tomography (CT). Typically, such core/shell nanoparticle-based X-ray CT imaging agents further comprise a targeting species for targeting the imaging agent to diseased sites. Included herein are methods for forming such agents, comprising forming an ensemble of core/shell nanoparticles, wherein the mean diameter of the ensemble of core/shell nanoparticles is selected so as to render the nanoparticles in the ensemble substantially clearable by a mammalian kidney.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 24, 2008Publication date: April 2, 2009Applicant: GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANYInventors: Peter John Bonitatibus, JR., David Cheney deMoulpied, Andrew Soliz Torres, Amit Mohan Kulkarni, Robert Edgar Colborn, Paul William Buckley

Publication number: 20060272589Abstract: A dish that can be releasably secured to a base, such as a table or tray. The dish includes compressible tabs that extend from the bottom of the dish. The tabs are to be compressed and inserted into a hole in the base. Once the tabs extend beyond the hole, the tabs return to a more uncompressed state, and engage the base. This secures the dish to the base. A two piece, threaded reinforcement can first be inserted to the hole in the base and secured together. The reinforcement includes a hole extending therethrough for receiving the tabs of the dish. A seal can also be positioned intermediate the dish and the base to prevent items, such as food and liquid from entering the hole.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 4, 2005Publication date: December 7, 2006Inventor: David Cheney

Patent number: 6423860Abstract: Dialkyldihalosilane formation during direct method alkylhalosilane production is promoted by effecting reaction between alkyl halide and powdered silicon in the presence of a catalyst comprising copper, zinc, and aluminum and further comprising an amount of phosphorus and tin wherein the amount of phosphorus and tin substantially enhances the selectivity of dialkyldihalosilane formation in comparison to the selectivity of dialkyldihalosilane formation in the presence of the catalyst comprising copper, zinc, aluminum and tin without phosphorus.Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 2000Date of Patent: July 23, 2002Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Larry Neil Lewis, William Jessup Ward, David Cheney DeMoulpied, John Matthew Bablin, Martha Maples Gardner
-
Patent number: 6258970Abstract: A method is described for enhancing the formation of alkylhalosilane during the direct method reaction between powdered silicon and a catalyst comprising copper, zinc, tin, and phosphorus. An increase in the value of the Cu/Zn weight ratio has been found to promote the performance of the phosphorus-containing catalyst as shown by in an increase in the weight percent dimethyldichlorosilane in methylchlorosilane crude.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 2000Date of Patent: July 10, 2001Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: William Jessup Ward, III, Larry Neil Lewis, John Matthew Bablin, David Cheney DeMoulpied

Patent number: 5905183Abstract: The instant invention provides a process for reducing chloride content from by-products generated during production of methylchlorosilanes, comprising, (a) hydrolyzing the by-products by combining the by-products with an aqueous medium, the aqueous medium optionally comprising a surfactant, at a pH of at least about 7 and at a temperature above about 0.degree. C. to yield a first phase comprising essentially solids and a second phase comprising an aqueous phase; (b) separating the first and second phase; and (c) oxidizing the solids from the first phase at a temperature of at least about 300.degree. C. for up to about 24 hours to yield a residue comprising less than about 1% by weight of chloride. The solids from the first phase may alternatively be reduced under a hydrogen flow, at a temperature of at least about 500.degree. C. for up to about 24 hours.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 1997Date of Patent: May 18, 1999Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Michael Lee White, Matthew David Butts, David Cheney DeMoulpied
