In one embodiment, a system and a method pertain to intercepting a message sent by a network service under test and directed another network service, determining whether the message should be redirected to a mock network service that emulates operation of the other network service, and redirecting the message to the mock network service if it is determined that the message should be so redirected.

The network service test environment also includes at least one mock support network service in data communication with the testee network service. The at least one mock support network service simulates a performance of an actual support network service while a data communication link exists between the actual support network service and the testee network service.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is presented for representing Web service activity in a user interface. Web service objects are represented in a display as a plurality of Web service graphical components. An ordered sequence of interactions between the Web service objects are read in response to selection of a control component, and a plurality of interconnection graphical components are introduced in the display. The interconnection graphical components couple two or more Web service graphical components and are presented in order of the ordered sequence of interactions between the Web service objects. A rate at which the interconnection graphical components are introduced is controlled by the control component.

In one embodiment, a system for displaying message timing is provided that comprises a processor circuit having a processor and a memory, a display device operatively coupled to the processor circuit, and round-trip time display logic stored in the memory and executable by the processor. The round-trip time display logic comprises logic that displays a graphical representation of a round-trip message sequence between a first service and a second service on the display device, and logic that displays a message sequence time of the round-trip message sequence on the display device in association with the graphical representation of the round-trip message sequence.
