The test fluid includes, water, a polyol, a surfactant, a radiant energy activated tracer compound and an organic solvent selected from the group consisting of an alkylene glycol and a dialkylene glycol. The test fluid is used to identify deficiencies in the web coating system so that adjustments to the web coating system may be made before assembling the coating system in an ink jet printer.

The coating apparatus is positioned along the printing substrate feed path and spaced from the printing device.     Abstract: A method for selecting chemical grade silicon metalloid having improved performance in a direct process for making organohalosilanes. The method comprises (A) heating a chemical grade silicon metalloid sample at a temperature ramp speed controlled to effect a stepwise reduction of oxide impurities present in the chemical grade silicon metalloid to a temperature greater than about 2300.degree. C. in the presence of a carbon source thereby effecting the formation of a reduction product consisting of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, (B) determining the amount of the reduction product formed above a temperature of about 1900.degree. C., and (C) selecting a chemical grade silicon metalloid for use in the direct process for making organohalosilanes based upon the amount of the reduction product formed above a temperature of about 1900.degree. C.

    Abstract: A flash gas filter system detects a low level of refrigerant flowing in a conduit of a refrigeration system by measuring a temperature drop across a sub-cooler connected to the conduit. The sub-cooler has a liquid process circuit for passing the refrigerant and a refrigerating circuit connected by a manual expansion valve to an outlet of the liquid process circuit for producing a predetermined temperature drop across the sub-cooler when the refrigeration system is fully charged. The temperature drop in the refrigerant is reduced by the presence of bubbles caused by a low refrigerant level. The reduced temperature drop is detected and an alarm signal is generated by a computerized filter system control. The control also can monitor liquid line temperature for protection against malfunctioning condensers generate maintenance information and warn of potential malfunction conditions.
