  • Publication number: 20250095514
Abstract: The present technology is generally related to medical training and assessment devices and tools, and in particular, to devices that simulate joint dislocation reductions to be used in medical training scenarios. A joint dislocation simulator is described, The simulator comprises at least two articular elements and at least one connector element. The at least two articular elements simulate different bones that make up a joint. The at least one connector element is configured to connect the at least two articular elements. The connector(s) simulate ligaments, tendons, muscles, cartilage, binding tissues, and/or other elements that connect articular surfaces. Additional or alternative aspects may be described and/or claimed.

  • Patent number: 9956523
Abstract: A flue gas desulfurization unit is converted from operating with lime or magnesium enhanced lime under inhibited oxidation into a unit that operates using limestone under inhibited oxidation conditions. A ball mill grinding unit may be installed to crush the limestone thereby producing a suspended slurry of fine limestone particles which is pumped to the reaction vessel. When installed, the ball mill may be installed in the process immediately downstream of the existing slaking equipment. The suspended solution may be maintained at a pH in the range of 3.0 to 6.5, optimally at approximately 5.0 to increase the dissolution rate of the limestone reagent produced by the ball mill. The post-conversion process may also require the addition of organic acids and oxidation inhibitors to achieve better SO2 removal from the flue gas.

  • Patent number: 8226754
Abstract: An FGD system is provided which can be retrofitted on existing utility coal-fired boilers. The design is based on a horizontal co-current scrubber capable of generating a pressure rise across the absorber. Modifications to existing plant equipment are minimized by the co-current horizontal scrubber design. The system includes features, which eliminate much equipment typically associated with other FGD designs, and reduces the use of support equipment such as tanks, agitators, and pumps. It also minimizes or eliminates the need for new buildings.

  • Publication number: 20020110511
Abstract: A scrubber system is provided which enables a substantially horizontal flow path for the gas which is being subjected to scrubbing. Among other advantages, this permits operation of the absorber with a differential pressure of zero or less. Scrubber composition spray means are positioned in the horizontal gas flow path for spraying an aqueous scrubber composition in a direction which is generally cocurrent with said gas flow. The system is free of means which spray the scrubber composition in directions countercurrent to said gas flow.

  • Patent number: 6349961
Abstract: Products of and methods for producing complex shapes of composite molded articles, including snowboards, that meet or exceed the aesthetic, cost and performance requirements expected of similar non-molded composite articles. The injection molded or co-injection molded snowboard comprises a top surface and a bottom surface shaped to provide a center portion, at least one tip or tail portion and edges along the sides of the center portion, wherein the bottom surface is a substantially smooth continuous surface, the center portion is cambered away from the top surface and contains metal edges along the sides of the bottom surface center portion, the tip or tail portions are curved away from the bottom surface of the snowboard and the top surface contains binding mounts or screw threads flush mounted to secure bindings.
