  • Publication number: 20240060286
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a modular housing structure formed of Reinforced Insulated XPS Styrofoam Panels, RIPs. XPS Styrofoam is an extremely durable material with excellent insulator properties and good structural integrity that can be used to assemble and disassemble large structures quickly and easily due to its light weight. The structure is secured with a set of reinforcing elements that solidify and form connections between the XPS Styrofoam wall panels. The modular housing structure may comprise an inner wall and outer wall with a void between them for improved heat retention, and has a regular arrangement of openings on each wall element to facilitate the quick addition of standard house fixings and circuitry.

  • Patent number: 9471054
Abstract: An analog probe for a machine tool apparatus, including a probe body and a stylus member movably secured to the probe body in a suspended rest position via a suspension mechanism. A sensor is provided for measuring the extent of displacement of the stylus member relative to the probe body from a rest position. The analog probe further includes a first compliant sealing member extending between the probe body and stylus member such that the sensor is contained within a chamber sealed from external contaminants. The analog probe also has for a suppressor for suppressing movement of the stylus member away from its suspended rest position induced by changes in the chamber's internal pressure and/or changes in the analog probe's operating environment.

  • Patent number: 8029217
Abstract: The invention relates to the transmission of power and/or data from/to a stationary part of a machine tool 200 to/from an accessory 100 mounted in the spindle 210 of the machine tool 200. A first electrical link or interface 1a,1b,1c,1d provides electrical communication between the stationary part 200 and the spindle 210, and a second electrical link or interface 3 is provided electrically connected to the first electrical link at the accessory mounting area 230. The second link 3 is in the form of electrical contacts. The invention extends to an accessory shank 360 for mounting to the spindle 210 of the machine tool, and also to an accessory 100 e.g. in the form of a measurement probe, connected to the said shank 360.

  • Patent number: 7812736
Abstract: A probe has internal circuitry capable of operating in a plurality of different modes, for example a variety of filter modes and turn off modes. A switch on the probe sends an input to a controller which is arranged to set the mode in response to operation of the switch. The switch may be a push button which is operated externally of the probe by means of an actuator in the form of a plunger. The probe has a workpiece-contacting stylus mounted on a seat from which it is deflectable. The stylus and the seat may comprise the switch. An indicator, e.g., an LED, indicates the mode in response to an output from the controller. The controller outputs a plurality of indications of different modes in a sequence and a mode is selected by operating the switch once the desired mode is indicated.

  • Patent number: 7316077
Abstract: A probe (10) for a machine tool has a switch (32) or other sensor for connecting its battery power supply in response to movement of the probe. In a preferred embodiment, the switch responds to rotation of the probe in the machine tool spindle. The switch (32) is responsive to linear accelerations, but is mounted in the probe so as to respond also to the rotation. A circuit is provid to discriminate between the rotation and linear movements.

  • Patent number: 6472981
Abstract: An optical signal transmission circuit for a probe is switched on by an optical switch-on signal comprising a burst 42 of pulses having a predetermined length. This is detected by a circuit which discriminates whether an input signal is a genuine switch-on signal or an interference burst 44, on the basis of the duration of the switch-on signal.
