The device is comprised of a buoyant device designed to prevent the loss of a fishing rod if dropped in water, while also securing the fishing hook and lure to prevent injury or snagging. The device comprises a body made of waterproof, buoyant foam material that can float and increase the visibility of the rod in low-light conditions through the use of bright colors or reflective elements. The body is typically cylindrical and split into two semi-cylindrical halves connected by a hinge, which can be locked together around the rod, hook, and lure using a locking mechanism. To prevent hooks from catching on the interior, the device features rigid protective members and fasteners that secure the lure and hook inside. Additionally, the body may include an opening for attaching a lanyard for convenient storage.
