    Abstract: A multi-axis self-contained sensor system includes an outer spherical housing and an inner spherical housing. The outer spherical housing has a transparent spherical shell that surrounds a first cavity and having a first refractive index (RI). The inner spherical housing has a first average density and includes a spherical wall that surrounds a second cavity. A sensor system is contained in the second cavity, and a suspending fluid layer is interposed between the outer spherical housing and the inner spherical housing.     Abstract: An apparatus includes a capsule configured to be launched or carried towards an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The apparatus also includes a directed energy device within or carried by the capsule. The directed energy device includes a first inductor configured to generate an inductive magnetic field that is able to inductively couple into one or more electronics of the UAV in order to disable or destabilize the UAV. The capsule can be configured to be launched towards the UAV and can include a loiter mechanism (such as a rotor, umbrella, or parachute) configured to maintain a position of the capsule or to slow a descent of the capsule after launch. The capsule can also be configured to be carried towards the UAV by a different UAV, and the apparatus can further include a tether coupling the capsule to the different UAV.

    Abstract: A communication system comprises a signal generator, polarizer, signal combiner, transmitter, positioning device, and controller. The signal generator converts first and second received data streams into respective first and second orthogonal linearly polarized signals. The polarizer is at a first rotation angle and converts first and second orthogonal linearly polarized signals into, respectively, a first right-hand-circularly polarized (RHCP) signal and first left-hand circularly polarized (LHCP) signal, which are combined in signal combiner into a signal sent by transmitter to a receiver. The positioning device adjusts the first rotation angle to substantially increase isolation between third and fourth orthogonal linearly polarized signals at the receiver. The controller performs the real-time analysis of transmission loss and directs the positioning device to adjust the first rotation angle.

The magnetic field may induce a current, producing heating, in a conductive loop in an IED and triggering the IED.
