  • Patent number: 11967561
Abstract: A fabric-based item may include fabric layers and other layers of material. An array of electrical components may be mounted in the fabric-based item. The electrical components may be mounted to a support structure such as a flexible printed circuit. The flexible printed circuit may have a mesh shape formed from an array of openings. Serpentine flexible printed circuit segments may extend between the openings. The electrical components may be light-emitting diodes or other electrical devices. Polymer with light-scattering particles or other materials may cover the electrical components. The flexible printed circuit may be laminated between fabric layers or other layers of material in the fabric-based item.

  • Publication number: 20150068521
Abstract: An anesthetic container includes an anesthetic receptacle and a valve assembly attachable to the receptacle. The valve assembly includes a valve seat with a first sloped surface and a valve member with a second sloped surface, the first and second sloped surfaces having different slopes. The first and second sloped surfaces abut each other to form a gasketless, fluid-tight seal therebetween with the valve assembly in a closed configuration. The valve member is spaced from the valve seat in an open configuration to permit the flow of the anesthetic from the receptacle. The valve assembly may also include an exterior groove and a toroidal sealing member disposed in the groove, the toroidal sealing member having an X-shaped cross-section.

  • Patent number: 8486044
Abstract: A port assembly includes a housing with an opening and a bore therethrough, a slit septum disposed in the opening to control access through the opening, a base joined to the housing and having a membrane attached thereto, a perforator having a first end abutting the slit septum and a second end aligned with the membrane, and a resilient member disposed between the perforator and the base. The perforator has first and second lumens, the first lumen extending between the first and second ends of the perforator and the second lumen extending between a point between the first and second ends and the second end. The perforator also has a seal disposed about the first lumen at the first end of the perforator, and a valve associated with the second lumen to limit flow of fluid through the second lumen in the direction of the second end.

  • Publication number: 20130175235
Abstract: A system includes a container and an adapter. The container may include a wall defining a receptacle and a neck, the neck forming an opening and a passage in fluid communication between the receptacle and the opening; a closure assembly having a portion disposed within the neck, and including an insert defining a valve seat, an actuator, a valve member attached to the actuator and sealingly engageable with the valve seat, and a biasing member disposed between the insert and the actuator. The biasing member urges the valve member into sealing engagement with the valve seat in an actuator advanced state, and the valve member disengages from the valve seat in an actuator retracted state, the actuator depending through the opening in the advanced state. The adapter may be removably attached to the container, and configured to move the actuator from advanced to retracted state upon attachment.

  • Patent number: 8062280
Abstract: A port assembly includes a housing with an opening and a bore therethrough, a slit septum disposed in the bore to control access through the opening, a base joined to the housing and having a membrane attached thereto, a perforator having a first end abutting the slit septum and a second end aligned with the membrane, and a resilient member disposed between the perforator and the base. The port assembly may be used in a fluid container that includes a receptacle for retaining a fluid, and at least one conduit in communication with the receptacle. The at least one conduit may be defined, at least in part, by the port assembly.
