A wedge is insertable into the aperture to distend the legs into locking engagement with the walls of the border member.

The bracket is formed of a flat base having a pair of spaced parallel ribs extending from one surface. Each of the ribs is provided with a flange extending in opposite directions. The bracket is pressed into the slot.

Abstract: A self-locking clip for a picture frame that is formed with a channel. The clip comprises an elongate piece of spring steel whose longitudinal end is bent to define a planar shelf from which depends a leg which defines an edge that is adapted frictionally to engage the inside surface of the channel and when the planar shelf is depressed, the edge is released from the inside surface of the channel to allow the clip to slide relative thereto.

Abstract: In a picture frame, a portion of one of the side sections thereof is bent and is notched in order to provide means for supporting the picture frame on a nail that is driven into a wall surface. The bent portion of the frame section may be formed during an extrusion process or an extruded frame section may have a portion thereof bent as a separate step. The present invention comprises an improved picture frame as well as the method for making same.
