  • Patent number: 12585284
Abstract: An unmanned device for a marine environment comprises a location sensor configured to gather location data corresponding to the unmanned device; at least one propulsion system; a transmitter and memory including computer program code. The computer program code is configured to, when executed, cause the processor to cause the propulsion system to propel the unmanned device in a pattern along the body of water, cause the sonar transducer to emit the one or more sonar beams into the body of water, receive sonar return data corresponding to sonar returns, and generate a sonar image corresponding to the sonar return data. Further, the computer program code is configured to cause the processor to detect an object within the sonar image, assign a score to the object indicating the likelihood that the object is a desired object type, and send an alert to the remote electronics device upon assignment of the score.

  • Patent number: 10716919
Abstract: A delivery sheath includes an outer tubular layer and an initially folded inner tubular layer. When an implant passes therethrough, the outer tubular layer expands and the inner tubular layer unfolds into an expanded lumen diameter. The sheath may also include selectively placed longitudinal support rods that mediate friction between the inner and outer tubular layers to facilitate easy expansion, thereby reducing the push force needed to advance the implant through the sheath's lumen.

  • Patent number: 10537431
Abstract: An expandable introducer sheath for passage of implant delivery catheters, such as catheters for delivery of prosthetic heart valves. The expandable sheath balances the amounts, shapes and positions of various stiff and elastic structures in the sheath to selectively program the expandability and buckling stiffness of the sheath. The expandable sheath can include, for example, an expandable tubular layer that includes alternating stiff and elastic wall portions of a single radial thickness. The combination of stiff and elastic wall portions allow for torque and push strength to advance the expandable sheath while at the same time accommodating temporary expansion. The expandable sheath can also be reinforced with a tubular layer of braided fibers or a stent structure for additional strength. Other embodiments include selective use of slots or gaps at the distal end of a stiff wall portion to enhance expandability and distribute strain.

  • Patent number: 8447533
Abstract: A method of reducing rainwater and/or groundwater inflow and infiltration into a wastewater treatment collection grid. The method preferably involves the steps of (a) dividing the grid into a plurality of major subsystems, (b) determining flow depth levels in each major subsystem under dry and wet conditions, (c) using these wet weather and dry weather flow depth measurements to determine a volume flow ratio for wet versus dry conditions, (d) using these flow ratios to identify the particular major subsystem(s) in which the greatest amount of inflow or infiltration is occurring, and then (e) further dividing the highest ranking major subsystem(s) into smaller subsystems in which the same dry and wet weather level measurement and ranking analysis is preferably conducted to further isolate problem locations for surveillance, maintenance, and/or repair.
