  • Patent number: 11781845
Abstract: A shaped charge is described herein, comprising a case; an energetic material disposed in the case; a metallic liner with a first surface disposed in contact with the energetic material and a second surface that is opposite from the first surface, and that defines a cavity; and an attenuator disposed in the cavity.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 10, 2019
Date of Patent: October 10, 2023
    Assignee: SCHLUMBERGER TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION
Inventors: Cesar Diaz Garcia, David Damm, Scott Malone
  • Patent number: 11215040
Abstract: A technique facilitates perforating along specific regions of a wellbore without creating detrimental transient pressure changes along a perforating gun string. In non-perforation regions, pressure charges may be used to maintain pressure within the gun string without creating perforations through the surrounding casing and into the surrounding formation. Each pressure charge may comprise a casing with an explosive material disposed in the casing. However, the components and structure of the pressure charge enable detonation and the corresponding increase in pressure within the gun string without creating perforations.

  • Patent number: 4046258
Abstract: A method and apparatus for inspecting glass containers is described in which a high frequency field is produced at an inspection station. The high frequency signal, which may be a radio frequency signal, is fed to the antenna of a probe centrally positioned relative to the antenna and coaxial therewith. The probe, as a unit, is supported adjacent the container to be inspected and the container is rotated relative to the probe. The manner of mounting the probe relative to the bottle permits the probe to move closer or further away from the container wall, depending upon the out-of-roundness of the container and the radio frequency signal is picked up by the probe with the signal level depending upon the relative position of the probe and the wall of the container. This varying detection output is compared with a steady state detection output to derive a signal which is proportional to the relative position of the probe and the container wall.

  • Patent number: 3933248
Abstract: An improved "bird-swing" detector which has a downstream rejection system. An optical type bird-swing detector inspects glass containers as they move therethrough on a conveyor. A container exhibiting a bird-swing defect causes generation of a rejection signal. An oscillator may be set at a frequency in synchronism with the travel of the containers. A wave-shaping circuit forms the output of the oscillator into square waves at the frequency of the oscillator. A flip-flop has one input connected to the rejection signal and another input terminal connected to the wave-shaping circuit. The flip-flop output is connected to a multi-stage shift register. The signal from the wave-shaping circuit clocks the shift register. The switching of the flip-flop is delayed to allow entry of any information therefrom into the shift register before the flip-flop is reset. A reject or defective container signal is clocked through the shift register in synchronism with the travel of a defective container on the conveyor.
