  • Publication number: 20220060790
Abstract: Example embodiments provide a system and method for dynamically triggering display of recommendations during an end-of-show period. A digital receiver identifies an end-of-show period for a piece of digital content. The end-of-show period indicates a portion at an end of the piece of digital content during which display of recommendations can be triggered. The digital receiver monitors for a motion indication signal from a remote control device. In response to both playback of the piece of digital content being within the end-of-show period and a determination that the motion indication signal is received, the digital receiver causes immediate display of one or more recommendations of further digital content.

  • Patent number: 11240545
Abstract: Systems and methods for generating and displaying a non-time bound content channel in a time-bound grid is provided. The system comprises receiving content data representing non-time bound content to be displayed in the time bound grid. The system generates the time bound grid, by creating, based on the content data, a non-time bound content channel. The non-time bound content channel displays one or more content objects representing the non-time bound content in the time bound grid. The system incorporates the non-time bound content channel with a plurality of time bound channels in the time bound grid. The system then causes display of the generated time bound grid on a viewing device of a user.

Abstract: A seal member includes an annular seal body extending about a flow axis. The seal body has a first sealing face, second sealing face, and a step face. The first sealing face extends radially from the flow axis and has a planar contour. The second sealing face extends radially from the flow axis, is axially opposite the first sealing face, and has an arcuate contour. The step face extends radially from the flow axis and is defined axially between the first sealing face and the second sealing face, the step face arranged for capture between a spout and a reservoir body to capture the seal member. Fluid reservoirs and methods of making fluid reservoirs are also described.

  • Publication number: 20210283754
Abstract: The present invention is a tool designed for opening the electrical transformer boxes used for underground power line installations from a position of safety for the person who needs to open the box to make repairs. The tool consists of a long telescoping handle on top of which is a partially enclosed roller and a strap positioned over the roller. At one end of the strap is a hook to connect to the latch on the electrical transformer box and at the other end of the strap is a hand grip for the user. The user pulls on the strap, which in turns goes taut and opens the electrical transformer box. The long handle is telescoping to make the tool easer to transport and store.

  • Patent number: 11054141
Abstract: A steam-based faux fireplace comprising a boiler configured to receive a fluid and generate steam, and a manifold configured to receive the steam from the boiler and emit the steam to generate a steam plume at an output. The manifold has a conduit configured to route the fluid about the manifold to heat the fluid before being routed to the boiler. The manifold is already heated due to the emitted steam. This configuration pre-heats the fluid before being presented to the boiler, allowing a smaller low power boiler to be used because the manifold acts as a fluid pre-heater. A very realistic faux flame with a significant length is generated from the low power boiler. In addition, the manifold includes a deflector configured to receive the impinging steam from the output, causing the steam to lose some energy and billow about the deflector and then illuminated to create a realistically looking flame.

  • Patent number: 11015376
Abstract: A security lock for a door is provided having a bracket on the interior side of the door with a locking bolt mounted in the bracket. The bolt is adapted for movement between a raised, unlocked position above a cavity on the floor below the bracket and a lowered, locked position where the bolt is in the cavity to prevent the door from being opened. A bolt restraint is mounted on the bracket and cooperates with the bracket to maintain the bolt in its unlocked position. The bolt restraint, for example, a spring-loaded ball that engages an annular recess in the bolt, releases the bolt into its locked position when a downward force is applied to the bolt. The locking bolt has an enlarged flange that stops movement of the bolt into the cavity beyond a predetermined location on the bolt.

  • Publication number: 20210084379
Abstract: A machine detects a set of first control operations and, in response, causes a display screen to present a graphical interface in which a central window suggests first content by presenting a first preview and a first identifier superimposed on the first preview. The machine then detects a second control operation that indicates dismissal of the first content. In response to the second control operation, the machine causes the display screen to present a transition to an interest-improved version of the graphical interface. The transition includes sliding the first preview, the first identifier, a second preview, and a second identifier together in a shared direction and at a shared speed within the central window. The second preview and the second identifier correspond to second content. In the interest-improved version of the graphical interface, the central window suggests the second content by presenting the second preview and the second identifier.
