  • Patent number: 7752483
Abstract: A Heart Beat System (HBS) enables both inertial navigation system (INS) technology and other sensors, e.g., laser radar (LIDAR) systems, cameras and the like to be precisely time-coupled. The result of this coupling enables microsecond control by the HBS to each sensor slave component. This synchronization enables the precise time of each sensor measurement to be known which in turn allows highly accurate world coordinates to be computed from each set of received date, e.g., laser pulses range data. Such precision results in 3-dimensional point cloud data with relative accuracies in the 5-10 cm range and absolute positioning accuracies in the sub 40 cm range. This precision further enables multiple sensors to be used simultaneously with outstanding registration which leads to fused 3D point cloud databases representing a more comprehensive urban scene. Finally, 3D data collected from subsequent missions can be used for precision change detection analysis.

  • Patent number: 7212689
Abstract: Image interpolation is becoming an increasingly important topic in digital image processing, especially as consumer digital photography is becoming ever more popular. From enlarging consumer images to creating large artistic prints, interpolation is at the heart of it all. This invention present a new method for image interpolation, which produces high quality results, yet it's speed is comparable to polynomial interpolation (i.e. cubic interpolation).

  • Patent number: 6885383
Abstract: Procedure for digital picture edge-smoothing refers to a method of smoothing the rough edges, around the objects, in a digital picture, as a result of enlargement. The procedure consists of detecting the rough edges and removing some pixel(s), so that edge will become smoother. If the edge has a 45 degrees angle, made of 2 by 2 pixels, will become an edge of 1 by 1 pixel. If the edge has 4 by 2 pixels, it will become a 2 by 1 pixel edge.

  • Publication number: 20040243919
Abstract: For graphic artists, medical image specialists, image processing researchers, and many others, the ability to apply the same view and drawing tools to multiple opened windows (i.e. images in windows) is a must. This invention describes a method where in a multiple document interface application the views and drawing tools information is sent out to all opened windows in the parent application so that images in different windows can be synchronized with the image in the active window.

  • Publication number: 20040222976
Abstract: A pen for hand-writing recording using an assembly of accelerometers. The accelerometers provide a three dimensional acceleration vector which together with a clock determines the position of the pen at all times. In addition, a sensor on the pen records when the pen is being pressed against a hard surface and it is only then that the pen records the movements of the pen and hence the hand-writing. The writing can be recorded by the pen for later download to a computer system, or the pen can be directly connected to a personal computer, thus providing a a true mouse-type pointing device that does not require any additional tables or touch-pads for two dimensional drawings.

  • Patent number: 6609692
Abstract: A procedure to attach securely a lamp on a ceiling allowing easy electrical connection and the use of a lamp with the most elegant upper end. This is possible by using a spring to support the lamp, which will allow to pull down the lamp in order to do the electrical connection. The electrical wires come through ceiling and are covered by the upper end of the lamp. The lamp released will be pressed against the ceiling by the spring.
