  • Patent number: 11635015
Abstract: A fluid actuated normally closed coolant control valve. The valve comprises a valve housing, an inlet port, the inlet port configured for fluid communication with either a coolant source or a heat exchanger of a DEF tank; an outlet port configured for fluid communication with the other of the heat exchanger of a DEF tank or the coolant source; a valve chamber, a valve and an actuator configured to actuate the valve. The actuator is a fluid actuated piston. The valve is biased to a closed condition in which the flow of coolant from the inlet port to the outlet port is prevented by the valve. The valve is actuatable to an open condition in which the flow of coolant from the inlet port to the outlet port is permitted, and the valve is withdrawn from the valve chamber, wherein the flow factor for the valve is greater than 1.5.

  • Patent number: 10015391
Abstract: Operating a camera system that includes a forward-facing camera directed at a forward scene and a rearward-facing camera directed at a rearward scene opposite the forward scene includes analyzing a video stream containing a reflection of the forward scene in a cornea of an eye of a user of the camera system, the video stream captured with the rearward-facing camera. The analyzing includes identifying an item in the reflection moving relative to a field of view of the forward-facing camera and predicted to enter the field of view of the forward-facing camera and identifying a characteristic of the item. A camera setting of the forward-facing camera is adjusted according to the characteristic of the identified item, the adjusted camera setting selected to improve capturing a photograph or video containing the item with the forward-facing camera.

  • Patent number: 9959031
Abstract: An electronic device includes a display and a touch input disposed over the display. The touch input receives touch inputs from a user and detects location of the user's hand relative to the display including location of the user's hand in front of and not touching the touch input. A controller controls the display of content, including determining an obstructed area of the display that is obstructed from viewing by the user's hand as indicated by the detection made by the touch input; determining that a default location for the display of a new graphical user interface (GUI) element that should be added to the display overlaps with the obstructed area by at least a predetermined amount; and changing a manner in which the new GUI element is displayed so that the new GUI element is not obstructed by the user's hand.

  • Publication number: 20160266643
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system and method of setting a display brightness of a display of an electronic device. One or more images of a user of the electronic device may be captured with a camera of the electronic device. A characteristic of an eye of the user may be detected in the one or more images. A light adaptation state of the user's eye may be determined based on the detected characteristic. The display brightness of the display of the electronic device may be set in view of the determined light adaptation state.

  • Publication number: 20160085311
Abstract: A control unit includes an electric field sensor and a motion sensor. Signals from the electric field sensor and the motion sensor are interpreted to generate corresponding graphical user interface control signals for a graphical user interface displayed by a separate electronic device. The graphical user interface control signals include movement control signals for a moveable element of the graphical user interface that correspond to movement of the control unit and a select control signal that corresponds to detection of a change in electric field sensed by the electric field sensor that is indicative of a change in a physical configuration of a user's body part.

  • Patent number: 9053148
Abstract: A method and device relating to destination prediction of communication messages is presented. The device may include an analyzer configured to analyze a message entered in a universal input field. The analyzer may also provide a search variable based on the entered message. The device may also include a or which may be configured to receive the search variable and determine at least one suggested destination based on the search variable. The prediction of communication destinations eliminates the need for various menus and sub-menus. Thus, a user may send a communication message without the need of lengthy navigations.
