  • Publication number: 20240071257
Abstract: A surgeon training apparatus includes a cassette, which includes biological tissue repurposed into a form consistent with the anatomical configuration of abdominal hernias, affixed into an anatomically correct silicon framework which replicates the abdominal anatomy. The framework positions the cassette in an anatomically correct position within the abdominal cavity, enabling surgeons to train using a properly positioned representation of the target anatomy, thus requiring the surgeon to properly use surgical tools to correct the pathologic condition caused by the hernia. The cassette is formed by applying biologic tissue to a specially designed “plate,” which affixes the tissue block into the anatomic framework, and is adapted for connection to a grounding device so the surgeon can use cautery during the simulated hernia repair.

  • Patent number: 10204159
Abstract: An apparatus for use with a commercial vehicle comprises a media recorder configured to receive video from one or more cameras. The media recorder comprises a memory configured to store a loop of the video as a circular buffer having a predetermined duration. A transceiver is communicatively coupled to the media recorder and configured to receive a video request command generated at a central office. An event detector is configured to communicate with a vehicle computer and detect predetermined events occurring during vehicle operation. The media recorder is configured to retrieve a portion of the loop of video stored in the memory and the transceiver is configured to transmit the portion of the loop of video to the central office in response to the video request command.

  • Patent number: 4215465
Abstract: An improved method for producing a vanadium-gallium superconductor wire having aluminum as a component thereof is disclosed, said wire being encased in a gallium bearing copper sheath. The superconductors disclosed herein may be fabricated under normal atmospheres and room temperatures by forming a tubular shaped billet having a core composed of an alloy of vanadium and aluminum and an outer sheath composed of an alloy of copper, gallium and aluminum. Thereafter the entire billet is swage reduced to form a wire therefrom and heat treated to form a layer of V.sub.3 Ga in the interior of the wire.
