Abstract: Methods and apparatus for economically producing a biodiesel product from feedstocks. Some embodiments comprise using at least one of a crude feedstock pretreatment process and a free fatty acid refining process prior to transesterification and the formation of crude biodiesel and glycerin. The free fatty acid refining process may include introducing the feedstock to glycerolysis to obtain a glycerolysis product then stripping the glycerolysis product to produce a fatty acid distillate and a stripped feedstock. The fatty acid distillate is recycled to the glycerolysis process to create more higher-molecular weight glycerides and the stripped feedstock (mostly di- and tri-glycerides) proceeds to transesterification to make biodiesel.

Abstract: A system and method for controlling pressure in a foreline of a processing system are disclosed herein that reduce variation in foreline pressure. In one example, a processing system is provided that includes a first process chamber, a first pump, a foreline, and a first foreline pressure control system. The first pump has an inlet and an outlet. The inlet of the first pump coupled to an exhaust port of the first process chamber. The foreline is coupled to the outlet of the first pump. The first foreline pressure control system is fluidly coupled to the foreline downstream of the first pump. The first foreline pressure control system is operable to control a pressure in the foreline independent from operation of the first pump.

Abstract: An electronic method for providing access to injection tracking content in an integrated disease management system includes accessing a camera of a device connected to the integrated disease management system, detecting a machine-readable code in a field of view of the camera, reading the machine-readable code, and unlocking access via an interactive user interface to the injection tracking content in the integrated disease management system.

Abstract: An orthopedic implant system adapted to fixate bone includes a bridge with first and second bores therethrough and first and second elastic members extending from the bridge respectively into the first bore and the second bore. During insertion respectively of anchoring devices through the first and second bores and into the bone, the anchoring devices respectively contact the first and second elastic members and depress the first and second elastic members respectively into the first and second bores such that the first and second elastic members deform to store energy therein while transitioning from a natural shape to a fixation shape. After insertion of the anchoring devices, the first and second elastic members, in attempted transitions from the fixation shape to the natural shape, respectively deliver the energy stored therein to the anchoring devices such that the anchoring devices urge the bone into a fixation position.

The hollow shaft is independently movable relative to the helical pile shaft.

Abstract: A hose management system for a hand-shower includes a riser bar for attachment to a drop ear in a shower wall. The flexible hose includes a shower head and attaches to the riser bar, opposite the drop ear, and is held in place by a cradle. The cradle is attached to the riser bar and includes a U-shaped cross section that retains the hose within the valley of the cradle. The hose may be retained within the cradle, and used as a traditional shower, by an interference fit or by magnetic attraction. The hose may also be manually pulled out of the cradle, thereby allowing uninterrupted manipulation while using the shower head as a hand-shower.

Abstract: Systems and methods presented herein generally provide for the compensation of asset providers and/or communications network providers for the non-consumption of assets provided with programming. In this regard, when users elect not to consume the assets associated with the programming, the asset provider loses the opportunity to present their assets to such non-consuming users and is thereby injured in relation to the price they have paid for the delivery of their assets. In one arrangement, a reporting module at a customer device is operative to identify when a user skips an asset and report that skip event to the network. This information may then be utilized to adjust the bill of the asset provider and/or to bill the user associated with the skip event.

Abstract: A faucet includes a faucet body having a base, a support arm cantilevered from the base, and a bracket formed on a free end of the support arm. A flexible hose has one end coupled to the faucet body. A spray head is coupled to the other end of the flexible hose such that the flexible hose has a fixed length between the faucet body and the spray head. The spray head has an outer surface with a recess formed therein and is configured to receive the bracket such that the spray head is releasably coupled to the faucet body.

Abstract: A request for information (RFI) system is provided for use in communications networks including broadcast networks and the internet. In one implementation, a viewer of a cable television network enters an RFI input (1) to a digital set top box using a user remote. Based on this RFI input, the digital set top box transmits a data request (2) to an RFI data center. The RFI data center also receives asset data (3) from an asset database so as to associate the RFI input (1) with a particular asset. An RFI request (4) can then be transmitted to the appropriate asset provider. The asset provider can then provide a report such package of assets or follow-on information (5) back to the RFI data center. The RFI data center may then, in turn, provide the package of assets or follow-on information to a user data terminal, for example, of the cable television network viewer, via access through a web-portal or e-mail (6).

Abstract: A request for information (RFI) system is provided for use in communications networks including broadcast networks and the Internet. In one implementation, a code identifying an item of media content of interest (e.g. television, newspaper, magazines, billboards, radio) is captured and input to an RFI system that includes stored media tags and a search tool for matching inputs to the stored media tags. Upon receipt of the captured code, the RFI system matches the captured code with the stored media tags and provides a response to the user based on the match. The response may include or relate to follow-on or premium information relating to the content of interest. Using this information, an RFI data center or an RFI platform may credit value to a rewards account established for the network user based on the user's verified consumption of assets and/or data requests.
