Patent number: 10059482Abstract: A blow-molded container including a finish and a base. The finish defines an opening at a first end of the container that provides access to an internal volume. The base includes a diaphragm and a standing surface. The diaphragm extends radially outward from a central push-up portion. The standing surface of the container is at a second end of the container. In response to an internal vacuum caused by hot-filling and closing the container, the diaphragm is configured to move passively from an as-blown first configuration to a second configuration in which the diaphragm is closer to the first end of the container as compared to the as-blown first configuration. The diaphragm is configured to move from the second configuration to an activated third configuration in which the diaphragm is closer to the first end of the container in response to the diaphragm being externally actuated by a tool.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 2015Date of Patent: August 28, 2018Assignee: Amcor LimitedInventors: Luke A. Mast, Richard Steih, Kirk Edward Maki, Omkar Dole, Mark Woloszyk, David Downing

Patent number: 10046890Abstract: A child resistant closure for use on a container that include an inner closure member having a threaded portion and an inclined surface, and an outer closure member coupled to the inner closure member for axial translation therebetween. A series of engagement features extend between the inner and outer closure to permit selective engagement of the outer closure to the inner closure to effect removal of the child resistant closure. The outer closure includes at least one finger spring member being inwardly directed and contacting the inclined surface of the inner closure member, thereby biasing the outer closure member into an operationally disengaged position. The finger spring member T-shaped in cross-section.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2013Date of Patent: August 14, 2018Assignee: Amcor Group GmbHInventors: Bradley S. Publication number: 20180128609Abstract: A method for acquiring a remote object is provided. The method comprises obtaining a sequence of position samples of the remote object, identifying one or more sets of spatially clustered position samples from among the obtained position samples, and applying curve-fitting to at least one set of spatially clustered position samples to obtain a trajectory of the set of spatially clustered position samples. Also provided is a method for tracking a remote object. The method comprising obtaining an estimated trajectory of the object, obtaining one or more position samples of the object, comparing the obtained position samples with positions computed based on the estimated trajectory, and determining that the object is being tracked based on whether the obtained position samples are consistent with the computed positions.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 19, 2017Publication date: May 10, 2018Inventors: Christopher David DOWN, Neil Rockcliffe ARMSTRONG, James Edward CROSS, Alexander James WILKINSON, Roland Sebastian WILKINSON

Patent number: 9957439Abstract: Friction reducers for hydraulic fracturing fluids, hydraulic fracturing fluids containing the friction reducers, and methods of making and using same are disclosed. The friction reducers comprise ethylene oxide polymers, propylene oxide polymers, ethylene oxide-propylene oxide co-polymers, and combinations thereof, and can further comprise a dispersant, such as polypropylene glycol. The friction reducer formulations can be active across a wide range of brine salinities, and tolerant of high levels of divalent cations in solution. The friction reducers can have a cloud point temperature, above which temperature they can precipitate out of solution and deposit on a surface of a hydrocarbon-bearing formation to inhibit hydration of the shale formations lining the fractures.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 2015Date of Patent: May 1, 2018Assignee: BOARD OF REGENTS, THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS SYSTEMInventors: Eric van Oort, John David Downs
