  • Publication number: 20230355532
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a drug delivery device. The drug delivery device is taken orally by a patient, and a capsule degrades within the gastrointestinal (GI) tract of the patient. An expanding band coated with a drug and located within the capsule expands and interfaces with the interior of the GI tract, allowing the drug to diffuse through the GI tract. After a period of time, the expanding band degrades and passes through the GI tract.

  • Publication number: 20210038816
Abstract: A chemical reaction system is disclosed for use in a device for delivering a therapeutic fluid comprising a liquid base and a polymeric acid. A reaction rate of the chemical reaction system is capable of being adjusted by adjusting at least one of surface area-to-volume ratio, acid concentration, and cross-linking of the polymeric acid.

  • Publication number: 20170087530
Abstract: A method for producing nanocomposite particles is provided. The method comprises supplying an organic phase fluid an organic phase fluid, an aqueous phase fluid, an amphiphile, and a plurality of hydrophobic nanospecies to a nozzle. An electric field is generated proximate the nozzle such that the fluid exiting the nozzle forms a cone jet that disperses into a plurality of droplets. The plurality of droplets are collected, and nanocomposite particles comprising a self-assembled structure encapsulating at least one hydrophobic nanospecies form by self-assembly.
    Type: Application
    Filed: December 13, 2016
    Publication date: March 30, 2017
Inventors: Jessica O. Winter, Gang Ruan, Barbara Wyslouzil, Anthony David Duong, Kalpesh Mahajan
