  • Publication number: 20180133816
Abstract: A miter saw includes a base having a peripheral wall, a table rotatably supported upon the base, and a miter angle lock. The miter angle lock includes a wear plate having a distal end engageable with the peripheral wall of the base and a cam member that moves between a locked position in which the cam member presses the distal end of the wear plate against the peripheral wall of the base for locking the table relative to the base, and an unlocked position in which the cam member is spaced from the distal end of the wear plate.

  • Patent number: 9707700
Abstract: A tile saw includes a base, and a table movably coupled to the base and moveable in a first plane between a first position and a second position to cut a workpiece. A blade assembly has a saw blade rotatable within a second plane that is perpendicular to the first plane to cut the workpiece as the table moves between the first position and the second position. The tile saw further includes a support arm fixedly coupling the blade assembly to the base via a support arm mount, and an adjustment mechanism received by the support arm mount and the base. The adjustment mechanism is movable between a first adjustment position and a second adjustment position to adjust the position of the saw blade. Adjusting the saw blade includes at least one of translating the saw blade to a third plane parallel to the second plane and pivoting the support arm to change the yaw of the saw blade.

  • Publication number: 20160199923
Abstract: A miter saw includes a base having a peripheral wall, a table rotatably supported upon the base, and a miter angle lock. The miter angle lock includes a pin having a first end adjacent the peripheral wall and an opposite second end. The miter angle lock also includes a cam member engageable with the second end of the pin and movable between a locked position in which the first end of the pin is brought into frictional contact with the peripheral wall for locking the table relative to the base, and an unlocked position in which the first end of the pin is spaced from the peripheral wall of the base.

  • Publication number: 20050003748
Abstract: An orbital sander is provided having a number of novel features including a high speed permanent magnet DC motor having a relatively flat rpm versus torque curve. The sander includes an AC to DC power supply, a remotely located on/off switch operated by a switch actuator bar extending transversely through the housing enabling the operator to actuate the on/off switch by alternatively pushing opposed ends of the actuator bar. The orbital sander further includes a fan having non-uniformly spaced blades, eliminating the need for a conventional counterweight, and a dust outlet adapted to be alternatively connected to a dust canister or alternate size collector vacuum hoses.
