  • Patent number: 10125328
Abstract: Processes for separating a feed stream for a combined hydrotreating zone into multiple components. The hydrotreating zone receives at least two streams from the separation, preferably a naphtha stream and a diesel stream. The two streams are treated in the hydrotreating zone and then separated into naphtha and diesel streams. In at least one embodiment, three separation columns are used. In at least one embodiment, two separation columns are used.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: November 13, 2018
    Assignee: UOP LLC

  • Patent number: 5453165
Abstract: A system and method for reducing hydrocarbons in wastewater includes an oil separator and a stripper tower. The tower has a housing that includes a stripper section and a condensation section. The stripper section includes a plurality of trays and steam inlet under the trays. The condensation section includes a plurality of trays and a pan tray having provisions to allow vapors to rise from the stripper section.

  • Patent number: 5368700
Abstract: A system and method for reducing hydrocarbons in wastewater includes an oil separator and a stripper tower. The tower has a housing that includes a stripper section and a condensation section. The stripper section includes a plurality of trays and steam inlet under the trays. The condensation section includes a plurality of trays and a pan tray having provisions to allow vapors to rise from the stripper section. The method includes having the oil separator remove the soluble oil from the wastewater stream which passes through the stripper section and has steam remove the hydrocarbons. The resulting vapors then contact cold process fluid which results in a heated process fluid stream. A portion of this heated process fluid stream is then mixed with crude so that hydrocarbons can be assimilated into the crude.

  • Patent number: 5326436
Abstract: A method of feeding to a fractionator a feed mixture having a wide-boiling range vapor-liquid mixture is provided. Also, provided is a fractionator feed section adapted to receive a two phase feed mixture and has operational stability when fed a feed mixture which generates significant volume of vapor in the feed section.

  • Patent number: 5230839
Abstract: A method of feeding to a fractionator a feed mixture comprising a wide-boiling range vapor-liquid mixture is provided. Also, provided is a fractionator feed section adapted to receive a two phase feed mixture. Furthermore, this invention provides a fractionator that has operational stability when fed a feed mixture which generates significant volume of vapor in the feed section. A feed nozzle (112) may introduce a mixed liquid and gas feed downwardly between converging baffles (102,104) into a mixing zone (110) above a seal pan (106), and trough means (114,116) may introduce liquid reflux to the mixing zone.
