  • Patent number: 9172542
Abstract: A method and system may include receiving, by a certificate authority computing device, a request to provision and provide a private key. A connection may be established between a requester device and a network for identification. The identity of the requester device may be verified via a network path utilized by the connection. A secure session with the requester device may be initiated using an intermediate agent on the network. A private key may be provided from the certificate authority to the requester device using the secure session. The private key may be provisioned. The intermediate agent may be connected to the network at a location that provides the requester device with a connection to the network. The intermediate agent may further authenticate the requester device using the location of the connection to the network of the requesting device.

  • Patent number: 8462942
Abstract: An approach is provided for providing secure packetized voice transmissions. A public/private key pair is generated at a call device (or endpoint). An encrypted voice stream is received from another call device, where the encrypted voice stream was encrypted using a public key of the public/private key pair. This encrypted voice stream when received at the call device is decrypted using a private key of the public/private key pair.

  • Patent number: 8374354
Abstract: A method includes receiving, via a network, a request to provision and provide a private key, the private key being for use with a public and private key system. The method further includes identifying a requester that has made the request via the network and initiating a secure session with the requester. The method also includes providing the private key using the secure session, and provisioning the private key. A system is provided including a distribution location providing access to a network, a terminal selectively connected to the network via the distribution location. The system further includes a network authority selectively connected to the network and the terminal, and a certificate authority selectively connected to the network. The certificate authority is configured to provide and provision a private key, and the network authority is configured to selectively provide a secure session between the terminal and the certificate authority.

  • Publication number: 20100166182
Abstract: An approach is provided for providing secure packetized voice transmissions. A public key corresponding to a destination device is retrieved. An input signal is digitized for transmission over a packetized voice connection to the destination device. The digitized signal is encrypted using a public key of the destination device. This encrypted input signal when received at the destination device is decrypted using a secure private key at the destination device.
