Patent number: 8930804Abstract: A system for selecting a candidate advertisement for linking to a web page based on the content of the web page. The content of the web page may be automatically determined and then compared to content of the candidate advertisement to determine which candidate advertisement to select. The system can be used to implement a structured advertising system for the World Wide Web. Web pages are searched and indexed, producing indexed content data. This indexed content data may be ranked according to relevancy. The ranked content data are compared to content data of advertisements and an advertisement is selected. The advertisement may be copied onto (linked to) the Web page. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 2011Date of Patent: January 6, 2015Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: Sanjay V. Vora, Joseph R. Kluck, William J. Nerenberg, David E. Dent, Paul M. Cohen

Patent number: 8250456Abstract: A system for selecting a candidate information unit for linking to a given information unit based on the content of the given information unit. The content of the given information unit may be automatically determined and then compared to content of the candidate information unit to determine which unit of candidate information to select. When the unit of candidate information is selected, it bears a chosen given information unit and it is linked with the given information unit. The system can be used to implement a structured advertising system for the World Wide Web. Web pages (given information) are searched and indexed, producing indexed content data. This indexed content data is then ranked according to relevancy. The ranked content data are compared to content data of advertisements (candidate information) and an advertisement is selected. The advertisement is then copied onto (linked to) the Web page.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 2009Date of Patent: August 21, 2012Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: Sanjay V. Vora, Joseph R. Patent number: 6550055Abstract: A method and device are provided for creating an information report for a computer system. An information report is used to signal a problem with a computer system and to provide information about the problem. The information report contains only relevant information, thereby decreasing the bandwidth required to send the information report, and the time required for a technician to review the information report. Information about the problem with the computer system is input by a user of the computer system. This information, together with information stored in a diagnostic tree, is used to limit the scope of an automatic information retrieval. An information report is produced from the results of the automatic information retrieval.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 1998Date of Patent: April 15, 2003Assignee: Intel Corp.Inventors: Paul M. Patent number: 6537019Abstract: A fan assembly includes a first fan and a second fan. The first fan has a first housing and a first blade assembly. The first blade assembly includes a plurality of blades attached to a hub, and is configured to rotate about a first axis of rotation in a first direction. The second fan includes a second housing and a second blade assembly. The second blade assembly also includes a plurality of blades attached to a hub. The second blade assembly, however, is configured to rotate about a second axis of rotation in a second direction that is opposite the first direction of rotation. The first axis of rotation and the second axis of rotation can be coincidental or they can be slightly offset.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 2000Date of Patent: March 25, 2003Assignee: Intel CorporationInventor: David E. Patent number: 6388679Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for the simultaneous display of different “viewing areas” on a computer video display monitor so that a user sees them as displayed at different resolutions. When a user selects a resolution for a viewing area different from the background resolution of the rest of the video display monitor, the background resolution of the display monitor is set as the highest resolution at which data is to be displayed. High-level graphics commands are intercepted by a multi-resolution system mimicking a display driver. High-level graphics commands are interpolated using a resolution conversion ratio. Modified high-level graphics commands are sent to the true display driver and an image is displayed at an apparent resolution lower than the background resolution. This enables a user to optimize the display of computer data depending on the program outputting that data and the user's requirements.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 1998Date of Patent: May 14, 2002Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: Joseph R. Patent number: 6317879Abstract: An apparatus for use in a member hardware system of a distributed collection of hardware systems includes monitor logic that cooperates with like logic of the other hardware systems to collectively monitor wellness of all hardware systems of the distributed collection of hardware systems and determine whether the hardware systems should be re-synchronized. The apparatus also includes reset logic communicatively coupled with the monitor logic that resets the member hardware system and causes the member hardware system to be rebooted off a common system image disposed in a boot one of the distributed collection of hardware systems, responsive to the monitor logic determining the hardware systems should be re-synchronized.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 1997Date of Patent: November 13, 2001Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: James E. Jacobson, Jr., David E. Dent

Patent number: 5896498Abstract: A method and apparatus for protecting user privacy by providing an inaccurate measure of network systems automatically initiates one or more non-user requested accesses to one or more network systems. The data received from the host system corresponding to the one or more non-user requested accesses is then automatically ignored.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 1996Date of Patent: April 20, 1999Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: David E.
