  • Patent number: 6807148
Abstract: A demand data distribution system architecture applicable to data distribution systems and entertainment systems is disclosed. The demand distribution system architecture includes data sources and nodes for receiving data over a high-speed serial data bus such as IEEE 1394. The nodes receive data on demand from the data sources on channels assigned to the nodes. The demand data distribution system includes such fault tolerant features as a loop gate for looping around failed elements of the system.

  • Patent number: 4860359
Abstract: A system and technique for enabling voice activation of an audio transmission system includes circuitry for storing and delaying an audio input signal, which may include a voice signal, and computer analysis of the input signal to determine voice input in accordance with predetermined parameters. The computer analysis includes programmed sampling of the input signal in response to a plurality of adjustable criteria to enable the analysis to be tailored for a variety of environments while producing reliable voice activation. Upon detection of a voice signal on the input in response to the computer analysis, the previously-stored audio signal is provided as output to be transmitted by the transmission system. Computer control of the system is also utilized to provide unkeying of the transmission following termination of the voice signal.
