  • Patent number: 6848369
Abstract: A workstation and a power and telecommunication arrangement therefor which together define a work area and, more specifically, to an improved workstation which includes a console supported on a worksurface or table and housing one or more electrical power receptacles and/or communication receptacles and the cabling associated therewith, and an elongate and flexible raceway assembly which provides an enclosed conduit for feeding power and communication cabling into and out of the console and which is capable of distributing such cabling along a series of interconnected workstations.

  • Patent number: 6448498
Abstract: A flexible raceway arrangement for routing power and/or communication cabling to a work area. The raceway arrangement includes an elongate support member which mounts thereon a plurality of raceway covers arranged along the support member in side-by-side relation with one another to define an elongate raceway run. The individual side covers are pivotably openable to provide access to cabling within the interior thereof.

  • Patent number: 6416339
Abstract: A communication cabling system wherein elongate communication distribution assemblies (CDAs) are joined serially together by connector units at opposite ends thereof. The interconnected CDAs include access ports or openings into which a tap unit may be inserted and connected to a circuit which is accessible through the access port. Each CDA can be adapted to carry a selected number of circuits wherein each connector unit at an opposite end of a CDA includes a block-like shielded housing having a predetermined number of mounting sockets on a back end thereof. A plurality of modular cable assemblies are provided which have plugs that plug into a respective one of the mounting sockets of the shielded housing so as to assemble a CDA. This system provides for the ready construction, installation and reconfiguration of the communication cabling system.

  • Patent number: 6123562
Abstract: A modular electrical system for mounting on furniture components such as wall panels. The system includes modules which each include at least one power block provides increased electrical circuit capacity, which capacity in the preferred embodiment is at least six electrical circuits. The power block provides different groupings of circuits which are externally accessible, such as for connection to removable receptacle units, on opposite sides thereof. Flexible electrical connectors are provided for connection to and transmitting electrical power between power blocks of adjacent panels. Each connector transmits only one grouping of electrical circuits therethrough, whereby two such connectors are normally utilized for connection between adjacent power blocks of adjacent panels to transmit all electrical circuits therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5236370
Abstract: An electrical system for an interior space-dividing system which, in a preferred embodiment, constitutes an eight-wire, three-circuit system. The electrical system is prefabricated and includes elongate harnesses mounted within channels which extend interiorly or portable space-dividing members. Adjacent harnesses are electrically joined by flexible electrical jumpers which create pluglike connections with power blocks provided on the ends of adjacent harnesses. Receptacle units are removably connectable to at least one side of each power block, and have circuit-selecting capability to facilitate access to all three circuits from adjacent work areas.
