  • Patent number: 8880748
Abstract: System and method controlling connectivity within a device. A device may be coupled to a host device. In response to the coupling, low power logic (e.g., an embedded device) of the device may be coupled to the host device. The low power logic may perform enumeration with the host device using only power provided by the host device. The low power logic may also charge a battery of the device using power provided by the host device. Device circuitry of the device may provide a signal for coupling to the host device. In response, the device circuitry may be coupled to the host device and may perform device enumeration with the host device.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 15, 2012
Date of Patent: November 4, 2014
    Assignee: SMSC Holdings S.à.r.l.
Inventors: Morgan H. Monks, David E. Haglan

  • Patent number: 8130110
Abstract: Reporting a faulty charging device. A mobile device may determine if a charging device is a faulty charging device. The determination may be performed after coupling the charging device to a power source and to the mobile device. If the charging device is a faulty charging device, the mobile device may report a location of the faulty charging device over a network.

  • Patent number: 7447272
Abstract: A method includes providing an in-phase signal and a quadrature-phase signal (I/Q signals), processing the in-phase and quadrature phase signals to produce a magnitude signal and a phase signal, conditioning the phase signal to produce a conditioned phase signal, filtering the magnitude signal to produce a filtered magnitude signal, and amplifying the conditioned phase signal as a function of the filtered magnitude signal to produce a polar modulated signal. An apparatus includes a pair of I/Q channels, an I/Q to magnitude/phase circuit coupled to the pair of I/Q channels, a magnitude conditioning circuit coupled to the I/Q to magnitude/phase circuit; the magnitude conditioning circuit embodying a magnitude filter; a phase conditioning circuit coupled to the I/Q to magnitude/phase circuit, and an amplifier circuit coupled to the magnitude conditioning circuit and the phase conditioning circuit.
